Mr. Mitchell passed out a list of suggested duties fora proposed Park and Recreation Board, which would replace the present Board of Governors. Mr. Avery mentioned that only two members showed up for the last Board of Governors meeting, and when he mentioned that it should be disbanded, the members present agreed. Chief Baugh and Mr. Avery mentioned that John Stearns from Aqua Park would like to participate on this type of Board. It was suggested that he be invited to the next meeting for any ideas he may have on recreation. Mr. Hetu suggested, as was previously mentioned at an earlier meeting, that non-residents be charged for using Edgewater's facilities. He also mentioned that the senior citizens would enjoy having some horseshoe pits, which could be located at Menard Beach. Mr. Mitchell noted on the map the areas that are owned by the City. Sheryl Cutrona is working on getting a grant for the City. If we get some money then we may be able to make some of the ~~provements suggested. Mr. Mitchell volunteered to draw up a report on the Task Force's findings. It would show an inventory of facilities, how things are financed, how they are governed and managed, and what will be recommended to Council. Menard Beach was discussed, and it was felt that a total plan of the area be made before any changes are made. Mr. Hetu recommended that the launching of boats be banned at Menard Beach. He also noted that when we do any planning, we should plan far enough ahead, such as a population of 15,000. It was suggested that when the members are notified of the next meeting that they be told it will be a very important meeting as the Task Force is coming to an end. If someone cannot make it, the meeting will be scheduled around them so they can be present. The meeting was adjourned at 2:30 PM. Minutes submitted by: Debbie Winks
