The G2 and G-1 1 canal drainage basin is approximately 350 acres of urbanized low elevation areas that are prone to flooding. During hurricane events when there is heavy rainfall and a significant tidal surge, backflow from the Indian River through the Gabordy Canal reducing the ability of the G-2 and G-1 1 canals from effectively preventing flooding in the service area. When the canals are unable to properly drain the service area. floodwaters damage homes and create the risk nfpermanent housing loss. To facilitate the implementation, the overall project has been structured in a phased approach. Group represents storage and conveyance improvements, vvhiioGroup 8 includes pumpinQ, basin divemion, and additional storage enhancements.
