06-19-1985 Special Q ~ City of Edgewater Building Code Board June 19, 1985 Minutes - Special Meeting Vice Chairman Ogram called the Special Building Code Board meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. in the Community Center. ROLL CALL Members present: Messrs. Ogram, Vanzin and Hall. Excused: Mr. Howard and Mr. Cole. Also present: Mrs. Taylor and Mrs. Rufer, secretaries. The Vice Chairman suggested that a motion is needed to table the old business for review of the proposed ordinance changes. Mr. Alvarez has advised that this material will be ready for the Board's review in about a week. The secretary explained that the Chairman and Mr. Alvarez have agreed to a special meeting on July 2 to review these changes. Mr. Hall moved to table the items under Old Business on tonight's agenda until the special meeting on July 2. Mr. Vanzin seconded the motion, and the motion CARRIED 3-0. NEW BUSINESS Mr. Vanzin said that he had talked to Mr. Howard today and Mr. Howard recom~ mended that Case #85-1 regarding an alleged violation of Section 7-349, be tabled until July 2. Mr. Barrett, with ponderosa Homes, said there is a possibility that he may not be in the city on July 2. He said he had some papers he would like to submit to the members to look over and asked if it would be possible to schedule the hearing until the July 18 regular meeting of the Board. Mr. Ogram suggested that this case be tabled until the next regular meeting. Mr. Gary Robinson was present and said that he would rather go ahead with the hearing tonight. Mr. Barrett distributed to the members a letter dated June 17, 1985, with attachments. This letter is addressed to Mr. Fischer, Building Official, and is signed by Mr. Barrett. It was further discussed whether to hear the case tonight or to table it until the City Attorney and Mr. Fischer are present. The secretary explained that Mr. Fischer had intended to be present but was advised that the case would be tabled at the suggestion of the City Attorney and the Chairman. Mr. Vanzin moved to table this hearing until July 2, when the City Attorney and Mr. Fischer would be present. Mr. Ogram asked if this motion could be changed to ask that it be tabled until the regular meeting on July 18, because he will be out of town. Mr. Vanzin agreed to this and amended his motion to show this change. Mr. Hall seconded the motion. The motion to table this case until the July 18 meeting CARRIED 3-0. The first motion to table the Old Business until the July 2nd meeting was amended by Hr. Vanzin to table it until the July 18th meeting. Mr. Hall seconded this amendment and it CARRIED 3-0. MISCELLANEOUS The letter dated June 18, 1985 from the City Clerk pertaining to a citizen's complaint about hours of work of construction workers was given to the Board members. The secretary was asked to include this on the agenda for the July 18 meeting. Mr. Vanzin moved for adjournment, seconded by Mr. Hall and the meeting was adjourned at 7:20 p.m. Minutes prepared by Joan Taylor
