BUILDING CODE BOARD REGULAR MEETING
April 21st, 1981
CALL TO ORDER
Mr. Austin called the regular meeting of the Building Code Board
to order at 7:30 pm in the Edgewater City Hall.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Mr. Bouchard made a motion to accept the minutes from the Special
meeting of March 19th, 1981. Mr. Troutner seconded the motion.
Motion CARRIED 5-0.
COMMUNICATIONS
Advisory Board Minutes 6f April 15th, 1981, this was for the Boards
information only. And a reminder of the Financial Report that was
due from every Board member.
OLD BUSINESS
A letter about the Southern Standard Building Code has a quorum as
three (3) members and the Board under the Code of Ordinance states
that four (4) members constitute a quorum. The members felt that
this should not be changed. This was for information only.
Comprehensive Plan has been passed and the Board should be made
aware of the changes.. This was for information only.
NEW BUSINESS
Mr. Bouchard made a motion that Charlie Murphy send a letter to
the Nation Electric Code asking for their determination on the
decision of the Electrical Building Official. And that Mr. Troutner
of the Building Code Board accompany Mr. Murphy in the inspection
of this discrimination of the electrical outlet of Mr. Montesano.
Mr. Vanzin seconded the motion. Motion CARRIED 5-0.
Mr. Austin recommended that Mr. Murphy send a letter to Mr. Montesano
stating what action was being done for his complaint.

be tabled to the next meeting. Mr. Hall seconded the motion. Motion
CARRIED 5-0.
Discussion of the City's contract with Charlie Murphy. The Board
requested that the hours be displayed for the public. The hours of

of the hours that the office would be open. Mr. Murphy said that
the hours for the Building Office would be 9-3 and that he would be
available for questions at 9 and 1.

Building Code Board Minutes
Mr. Bouchard made a motion to send a recommendation to the Zoning
and Planing Board for the requested roof height for R1A-Single Family
dwellings. The requirements to read that the Single Family-R1A-
one story house, maximum height of the roof should be no more than
22 feet above the flood level plane. Mr. Vanzin seconded the motion.
Motion CARRIED 5-0.
Discussion on the height requirement for Florida Shores. The reason
for the height requirement is due to the some septic tank problems
in that area. The road elevations are not all the same through this
area.
Mr. Bouchard made a motion to adjourn. Mr. Troutner seconded the
motion.
