03-03-1980 Special Q ~; ~1,1 CITY OF EDGEWATER BUILDING CODE BOARD SPECIAL MEETING March 3, 1980 CALL TO ORDER Mr. Griffith called the special meeting to order at 7:10P.M. in the Edgewater City Hall. ROLL CALL Mr. Griffith Mr. Hall Mr. Harris Mr. Cole Mr. Troutner Present Present Absent Excused Present REQUEST FROM MR. KOCHIS Mr. Griffith read a letter from Mr. Kochis stating that he needs some relief from the Ordinance that states that the floor level must be 18" above the crown of paved road. Mr. Kochis explained that if he complies with this, it will create flood problems for his neighbors. He also said that the Building Official passed the plumbing and everything else other than the floor level. He said that he would be living in the house which will be located on Naranga, which is behind the cabinet shop on Ridgewood. Mr. Hall said that he had owned all the property behind Mr. Kochis and he had never had any water problem. He felt that there was nothing wrong with the height Mr. Kochis wants. Mr. Troutner felt that this was alright. Mr. Griffith felt there was no problem. The Board was in full agreement that Mr. Murphy should have been present at this meeting. Mr. Hall made a motion to send a letter to Council and ask them to grant a height variance on this one site only at 106 Naranga Drive. Mr. Troutner seconded the motion. The motion CARRIED 3-0. Mr. Kochis asked when he could get going on this site? Mr. Griffith said after the Council met on March 10th. Mr. Griffith said that he received a certified letter from Mr. William Lawson of 2703 Needle Palm Drive, which he read. This was discussed on October 9th and was tabled and no decision has been made. Mr. Lawson would like to have some type of decision from the Board concerning taxes. Mr. Opal said that Mr. Lawson wanted a letter for his income tax to show his losses. Mr. Hall felt that he wanted to know the decision of the Building Code Board. Mr. Griffith suggested sending him a transcript of the October 9th meeting and send a letter stating that it was tabled and is still tabled and will be discussed at the next regular meeting which will be held on April 15, 1980.
