Included in the list for receiving certificates were; Dick Geiger, Doug Henry, Bobby Hunter, Jim Wolfer, Coronado Paint Company, Buttleman's Sporting Goods, and Electronic Awards. Previously the clinic was done by the Bucky Dent Baseball School and this year was Edgewater's first year of doing their own clinic and all felt it was just as successful as previous years and also saved the City a considerable amount of money. Update on Parks Mr. Corder began his update with Rotary Park, noting that the roof had been put on the restrooms, the swale has been cut for the retention area, the playground equipment has been picked out and will need to be put out on bids, and work is going to start up again on the pavilion. He said Coronado Paint has donated all the paint and finish for the basketball court there and it should be completed in a few weeks. At Whistle Stop Park the biggest ballfield has the sod down and clay on the infield and the smaller field will be sodded in a few days. He stated his recommendation on the lights for the fields will go before the Council at the next regular meeting on the 11.l.th, and we are also out for bids on the ballfield fencing. Mr. Corder showed the Board members the sketch of this proposed complex. He stated the City already has a fund-raising project in mind for this complex and it will be a riverside festival to be held on the Saturday before Memorial Day. Plans for this festival will include a stage set-up with bands, an arts & crafts display, food, raft race, fishing derby, street dance, chowder cook-off and end with a festival of lights show on the river in the evening. Although the plans are tentative right now, it will become a reality, with the proceeds going toward building the new gymnasium/activities center.
