CITY OF EDGEWATER
CITIZENS CODE ENFORCEMENT
REGULAR MEETING
FEBRUARY 20, 1992

7:00 P. M.
CALL TO ORDER:
Chairman George Cowan called to order the regular meeting of the
Citizens Code Enforcement Board at 7:00 P.M., Thursday, February
20, 1992.
ROLL CALL:
Members present were Chairman George Cowan, Mr. Munson, Mrs. Borner
and Mrs. Cucanich. Also present were Charlane Runge, Code
Enforcement/Safety Director, Beverly A. Kinney, Code Enforcement
Officer, Krista Storey, City Attorney and Tonya Elliott, Secretary.
Mr. Bennington, Mr. Christian and Mrs. Strong were excused from
the meeting.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Mrs. Cucanich made a motion to approve the minutes of January 16,
1992. Seconded by Mrs. Borner. Motion CARRIED 4-0.
Code Enforcement Officer Charlane Runge reported the following
cases signed in compliance:
Case # 91-CE-2276 - Frank & Kevin Hall
Case # 91-CE-2556 - James & Rosemary Carder
Case # 92-CE-0035 - Daniel, Michell & Timothy Troian
Code Enforcement Officer Beverly A. Kinney reported the following
case signed in compliance:
Case # 92-CE-0006 - Richard & Mary Bartholomew
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
CASE #91-CE-2131 - Elwood & Frances Sides Inoperable white
truck. Section 10-64. Code Enforcement Officer Beverly A. Kinney
reported that Mr. Sides was to repair the vehicle or remove from
the property by January 21, 1992 or a fine of thirty dollars
($30.00) a day would be imposed. Mr. Sides was not found in
compliance until January 22, 1992. Ms. Kinney requested the board
waive the fine of thirty dollars ($30.00).
Mr. Munson made a motion to waive the fine of thirty dollars
($30.00). Seconded by Mrs. Cucanich. Motion CARRIED 4-0.

NEW BUSINESS:
CASE #91-CE-2545 - Patricia & Tammy Walsh - Gold vehicle with no
tag. Section 10-64. Code Enforcement officer Beverly A. Kinney
reported the violation was first observed on December 20, 1991 and
was to be corrected by January 3, 1992. Upon reinspection of the
property on January 3, 1992, Ms. Kinney found that no corrective
action had been take. Ms. Kinney passed photographs to the board
dated December 20, 1991 and February 20, 1992. Ms. Kinney
recommended the violator be given until March 25, 1992 to correct
the violation of a fine of thirty dollars ($30.00) a day be
imposed.
Chairman George Cowan requested anyone with statements or comments
pertaining to case # 91-CE-2545 stand and be sworn in. There was
no one to be sworn in with testimony to this case.
Mr. Munson, after hearing the testimony presented and the
recommendation of staff, moved in reference to Case # 91-CE-2545
that a violation of section 10-64 of the Edgewater Code of
Ordinances does exist and the alleged violator has committed the
violation. After considering the gravity of the violation, any
actions taken by the violator to correct the violation, and any
previous violations committed by the violator, further moved that
the violator be given until March 25, 1992 to correct the violation
and that a fine of thirty dollars ($30.00) be imposed for each day
the violation continues past that date. Seconded by Mrs. Cucanich.
Motion CARRIED 4-0.
Chairman George Cowan requested anyone with statements or comments
pertaining to case # 92-CE-0123 stand and be sworn in.
CASE #92-CE-0123 John A. Keller Commercial vehicle on
residential property. Section 712.00. Code Enforcement Officer
Beverly A. Kinney reported that when Mr. Keller was originally
cited on January 17, 1992 he was to either remove the vehicle from
the property or provide proof that the vehicle was not commercial.
Mr. 'Keller, 302 Adele Street, Edgewater, Florida, presented the
vehicle registration to Ms. Kinney. Upon examining the
registration and determining the vehicle was not registered as
commercial, Ms. Kinney withdrew the case.

ADJOURNMENT:
There being no further business to come before the Board, a motion
was made and accepted to adjourn. The meeting adjouned at 7:14
P.M.
