11-15-1990 u o C< \ c~ \'" ( ( , \ CITY OF EDGEWATER CITIZENS CODE ENFORCEMENT BOARD REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER 15, 1990 COMMUNITY CENTER, CITY HALL 7:00 P.M. CALL TO ORDER: Chairwoman, Maureen Borner called to order the regular meeting of the Citizens Code Enforcement Board at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, November 15, 1990. ROLL CALL: Members present were Mr. Lange, Mr. Cowan, Mrs. Cucanich, Mrs. Strong and Chairwoman Borner. Mr. Kozlowski and Mr. Christian were excused. Also present were Mayor Elect, Tanya Wessler, Pat Di Leva, Code Enforcement/Safety Director, Fire Chief William Vola, Frank Conrey, Electrical Inspector and Sandra Meager- Pengov, Secretary. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Mrs. Strong made a motion to approve the minutes of October 18, 1990. Seconded by Mr. Cowan. Motion CARRIED 5-0. UNFINISHED BUSINESS: Mr. DiLeva asked all present who were testifying to be sworn in. After the swearing in, Mr. DiLeva introduced Frank Conrey, Electrical Inspector, to report on case number 90-CC-105, Fat Bob's Restaurant. Upon his inspection of October 20, 1990, Fat Bob's was found in compliance. Mr. Lange made a motion to dismiss the and case and find Fat Bob's Restaurant in compliance. Seconded by Mrs. Strong. Motion CARRIED 5-0. CASE #'s 90-CC-106. 107 & 108 - Jimmy Owens. Mr. DiLeva stated he is still unable to locate Mr. Owens to serve the subpoena's. NEW BUSINESS: CASE # 90-CC-112 - Charles Owen Junk, untagged vehicle on property. The Board questioned Mr. Owen extensively. Mrs. Strong made a motion to extend the compliance time to December 13, 1990 to store the vehicle, if not in compliance by that time a fine will be imposed. Seconded by Mrs. Cucanich. Motion CARRIED 5-0. Mr. DiLeva reported case numbers 90-CC-113, 90-CC-114, 90-CC-115, 90-CC-116, 90-CC-117 and 90-CC-118 as being 'in compliance. Mr. Cowan made a motion to accept these cases in compliance. Seconded by Mrs. Cucanich. Motion CARRIED 5-0. DISCUSSION ITEMS: Chief Vola spoke to the Board regarding the responsibilities of the inspectors and the responsibilities of the Board. Also, Chief Vola would like more emphasis on the health, safety and welfare cases (those that may put a life in danger). The Chief discussed the need of cost recovery for the violations served.
