Members present were Mr. Don Bennington, Mr. Paul Biggerstaff, Mrs. Maureen Borner, Mrs. Delores Cucanich-Chairwoman, Mr. Richard Kozlowski, Mrs. Ella Ledger-Adle and Mrs. Joan Strong. I Also present were Pat Di Leva, Safety Director/Code Enforcement Officer and Sandra Meager-Pengov, Secretary. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: The minutes of March 30, 1989 and April 27, 1989 were presented for approval. It was moved and seconded to approve the minutes 7-0. NEW BUSINESS/UNFINISHED BUSINESS: Mr. Pat Di Leva reported that cases: 88-CC-4, 89-CC-43, 89-CC-54, 89-CC-55, 89-CC-60, 89-CC-62, 89-CC-63 are now in compliance. CASE 89-CC-56 - Mr. Di Leva introduced Frank Conrey, the Plumbing and Electrical Inspector for the City, who reported on the property of Mr. Paul M. Mack. Mr. Mack described the mechanic shed that had been erected without a permit, that has fiberglass on it. Also, the "trash pile", exit signs without lights, etc. Mr. Jones the Fire Inspector, informed Mr. Mack that the shed must be torn down because it does not meet standard building code type of construction. The fact that the electrical wiring in the shed must be brought into compliance before the demolition of the shed is why, Mr. Mack says, it hasn't been torn down. Upon inspection by Mr. Fischer, the Building Inspector, he informed the employees that he knows two new buildings are being built and he said the shed may be torn down when the new buildings are completed. Mr. Mack stated he knows they still are not in compliance. Mr. Conrey passed pictures of the structure in question to the Board Members showing violations and explaining where the potential danger is. Mr. Bennington inquired of Mr. Mack, when Mr. Fischer, the Building Inspector, stated that the shed could remain until the other new buildings were erected. Mr. Mack estimated it to be around mid-April. Mr. Mack's confusion seems to be over who has the authority, Mr. Jones or Mr. Fischer as to the date this building should be torn down. Mr. Conrey informed the Board that Mr. Fischer stated the Fire Inspector, Mr. Jones has the final say. Mrs. Cucanich closed the hearing and opened the floor for deliberation by the Board Members. Mrs. Stevens and Mrs. Adle asked pertinent questions of Mr. Mack and made suggestions in making the conditions of the property safe. Mr. Bennington moved to have the shed completely taken down, all chemicals stored in a safe manner to meet the approval of the inspectors by May 30, 1989, at 8:00 a.m. or a fine of $250.00 per day, retroactive to May 15, 1989 (date Mr. Mack was originally notified to take the shed down), seconded by Mrs. Strong. Motion passed 7-0. CASE 89-CC-62 - Mr. Bennington moved, now that Mr. Dreggors had acquired a tag for his trailer and all the electrical is now in compliance, there is no longer a violation, seconded by Mrs. Borner. Motion passed 7-0. . ~ o o CITIZEN CODE ENFORCEMENT BOARD THURSDAY, MAY 25, 1989 7:00 p.m. Mrs. Adle moved to have the future Board meetings meet on the third (3rd) Thursday of each month in the Community Center, seconded by Mrs. Cucunich.
