CITY OF EDGEWATER
CITIZEN CODE ENFORCEMENT BOARD
REGULAR MEETING
7:00 P.M.
CONFERENCE ROOM, CITY HALL
THURSDAY, MARCH 30, 1989
Vice-Chairman Phillip Williams called to order a regular meeting
of the Citizen Code Enforcement Board at 7:00 p.m., Thursday,
March 30, 1989, in the conference room of City Hall.
Members present were Ella Ledger-Adele, Paul Biggerstaff, Maureen
Borner, Delores Cucanich, and Phillip Williams. Also present
were Pat DiLeva, Code Enforcement Officer/Safety Director, David
Jones, Assistant Code Enforcement Officer, and Beverly Kinney,
Secretary.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: The minutes of January 26, 1989, were
presented for approval. Mrs. Cucanich moved to approve, but due
to the lack of a quorom, the minutes were not able to be
approved.
UNFINISHED/NEW BUSINESS:
Mr. Jones reported that case 89-CC-l was in compliance. Mr.
DiLeva reported cases 89-CC-2 and 89-CC-3 were in compliance, but
case 88-CC-4 was still in non-compliance. Mr. Williams stated
case 88-CC-4 would be continued to the next meeting, because Mr.
Tiffany did not have enough time to prepare for the March
meeting.
Mr. DiLeva reported the motel at 403 S. Ridgewood Avenue had been
demolished, and he sent a letter of thanks to the property owner.
Mr. DiLeva asked the Board's opinion of a boat parked in the
Wildwood Subdivision in a driveway. The current code calls for
boats to either be parked in the side or rear yard, but from the
photograph presented to the Board, he believed it was less
obvious if left in the owners driveway. After some discussion,
the members agreed the boat would "stick out like a sore thumb"
if the owner was forced to move the boat. Mrs. Cucanich moved to
allow the boat to remain in the driveway until a formal complaint
was made to the City, seconded by Mrs. Borner. Motion Carried 5-
o.
ELECTION OF OFFICERS:
Mr. Williams nominated Mrs. Cucanich as chairman. There
other nominations. Mr. Williams so moved, seconded
Ledger-Adele. Motion Carried 5-0.
