CITY OF EDGEWATER
Citizen Code Enforcement Board
November 15, 1984
Special Meeting Minutes
Chairman Prater called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m. in City Hall.
ROLL CALL
Members present: Messrs. Prater, Rotundo, Williams, Turano, Rosa and
Kane. Members absent: Mr. Richardson. Also present: Mrs. Taylor,
Secretary.
Resignation of Chairman and Vice-Chairman
Mr. Prater asked the secretary to read the letters addressed to the
Mayor and City Council from he and Mr. Rotundo offering their resigna-
tions from the Board, effective November 16.
Because of this pending resignation Mr. Prater called for appointment
of new officers for the Board.
Election of new Chairman and Vice-Chairman
Mrs. Kane asked if the appointments would be temporary until there is a
full Board and Mr. Prater replied that it is up to the Board. This was
discussed at length. Mrs. Kane noted that the organizational meeting
will be held in June. She commented that the two new members would
probably not want to serve as officers as they would be new on the Board.
The members agreed that the positions should run until June of 1985.
Mr. Rosa nominated Mr. Williams for Chairman and Mrs. Kane seconded the
nomination. There were no other nominations from the floor. Mr. Turano
moved to close nominations. Mr. Williams was unanimously elected Chairman.
The floor was opened for nominations for Vice-Chairman. Mrs. Kane
nominated Mr. Rosa. Mr. Rosa said that he would rather not take this
office due to the demands of his job. He in turn nominated Mr. Turano
for the office of Vice-Chairman. Mr. Turano declined and seconded the
nomination of Mr. Rosa. There being no other nominations Mrs. Kane moved
to close nominations. Upon a roll call vote Mr. Rosa was elected Vice-
Chairman.
MISCELLANEOUS
Mr. Prater read a statement for the record: "I think the Code Enforcement
Board is a very important Board for the City of Edgewater. I've enjoyed
being a member of the Board and have been fortunate to have such a nice
group of people to work with on the Board. We also have been fortunate
to have always had nice secretaries. Our present secretary, Joan Taylor,
is always there with a willing, helping hand to assist us in any way just
to try to make our jobs a little easier for us. Each Board member should
study the agenda and visually inspect each alleged violation prior to the
hearing. live always tried to view the violation shortly after the sub-
poena IJ.as been served; then again on the day the hearing is. scheduled to
see if 'there has been any noticeable change in the alleged violation.
Abide by the book and be honest with all concerned. If I can be of any
assistance at any time in any way I will be as close as your phone. Call
me. "
The members expressed their appreciation.
It was noted that there is one case scheduled for the next regular meeting
on November 29.

him of the actions taken at this meeting and to remind him of the meeting
on the 29th.
