05-31-1984 . - f \ i CITY OF EDGEWATER Citizen Code Enforcement Board May 31, 1984 Minutes Chairman Prater called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. in the Community Center. ROLL CALL Members present: Messrs. Prater, Turano, Rosa, Richardson, and Rotundo. Excused: Mr. Williams. Absent: Mrs. Kane. Also present: Mrs. Taylor, Secretary and one member of the press. APPROVAL OF MINUTES A motion was made by Mr. Rotundo and seconded by Mr. Richardson to approve the April 26, 1984 minutes. The motion CARRIED 5-0. OLD BUSINESS Case No. 84~CC-L ~ Harold C. LLoyd ~ V~olation of Section 712 - Parking of trucks in back yard of residence at 2719 Yule Tree with no tags This case was continued at the last meeting to give Mr. Lloyd sufficient time to sell a 1957 Chevrolet step van or otherwise dispose of it. An Affidavit of Compliance signed by Sgt. W. D. Lenz advised that a rein- spection was performed on May 30, 1984 and that the corrective action ordered by the Board has been taken. A motion was made by Mr. Robert Rosa and seconded by Mr. Richardson to remove this case from the Board. The motion was PASSED 5-0. Review of Revised By-Laws The members discussed the recommended revisions made by the City Attorney and upon a motion to approve the revised By-Laws made by Mr. Rotundo and seconded by Mr. Richardson, the By-Laws were APPROVED by a vote of 5-0. It was pointed out that these revised By-Laws will go to the Mayor and Council for final approval. NEW BUSINESS ". ~~. James D. Wilson - Case No. 84-CC-2 - Violation of Sec. 10-63 and 10-6~ - Parking of school bus in residential area with expired tags, 126 E. Connecticut Avenue. This case was originally filed under the name of Richard Whiteaker. It was determined by the police officer serving the subpoena that the owner of the bus is James D. Wilson. An Affidavit of Compliance signed by Sgt. W. D. Lenz states that upon reinspection of the bus at 126 E. Connecticut Avenue, corrective action has been taken. The reinspection was performed on May 30, 1984. A motion was made by Mr. Rosa to close this case. The motion was seconded by Mr. Richardson and CARRIED 5-0. A memo from Mrs. Taylor noted that the owners of the property at 126 E. Connecticut Avenue had stopped by the office and asked that Mrs. Myers be excused from attending the meeting due to illness. MISCELLANEOUS The secretary advised the members of the appreciation dinner planned for all Board members on June 14. Mr. Rotundo pointed out the problems caused by unsightly trash being left at the street for several days at a time as a result of reduced number of trash pick-up days in the City. Mr. Prater asked if he has had complaints about this from others in the City and Mr. Rotundo said that he has. This .. , ~ . ( \ *" matter was discussed at length and the members all agreed that this was a problem which should be resolved. Mr. Rotundo motioned that the situation be called to the attention of the Mayor and City Council, advising them that the trash sits at the street week after week before it is picked up. It was suggested that Mr. Prater be present at the Council meeting when this subject is discussed to answer any questions which may arise. The motion was seconded by Mr. Richardson and CARRIED 5-0.
