ROLL CALL Members present: Mrs. Mason, Whittet and Wargo. Excused: Wadsworth, Deputy City Clerk, press. Mrs. Kane, Mrs. Hoffman, Messrs. Prater, Hamel, Mr. Williams. Also present: Mrs. Susan Mrs. Taylor, Secretary, and one member of the Mrs. Wadsworth administered the oath of office to new members Mrs. Hoffman and Mr. Wargo. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mrs. Kane motioned to approve the December 30, 1982 minutes, seconded by Mrs. Kane., The motion CARRIED 5-0. r- '1 'S.A. <- L',.""\.' "'"'... .-.-- 1-0 .. -\ 'Iv' ^-~ . <.- OLD BUSINESS Case No. 82-CC-22 - Hermosa Palms Condominiums - Removal of construction trailers - Section 18-2 Discussion was had regarding debris still on the property. Mr. Hamel said he had checked the property and agreed that the clean-up had not been done thoroughly, but asked to be excused from any participation in this case, because he held a mortgage on the property. The motion was made by Mr. Prater to write another letter to the owners of the property and give them ten days to clear the property, seconded by Mr. Whittet. The motion CARRIED 6-1. Mr. Hamel abstained from voting. Mrs. Mercedes Hoffman, alternate, voted in place of Mr. Williams, who was excused. Mr. Wargo pointed out that under State Law you cannot abstain from voting. Mr. Hamel wished to leave his vote as an abstention until so changed by the City Attorney. Case No. 82-CC-23 - Robert E. Fuller - Lot complaint Officer Rickleman reported that he had viewed the property. The trash was gone but the grass still exceeds the 18" limit set by the Code. Mrs. Wads- worth did not feel he had complied with the Code, but agreed that it was probably cleared as well as it could be. Mr. Fuller said he continually worked around the area and felt that he had complied. Moved by Mr. Prater and seconded by Mrs. Kane to find Mr. Fuller In compliance. The motion CARRIED 7-0. Case No. 83-CC-l - Thomas King - 2614 Pine Tree Drive - Violation of Section 7l7.and 717.02 Pictures taken at the site were reviewed by the Board members. It was noted that this is the fourth complaint within a year against Mr. King. Mr. Hamel thought it was a gross injustice to the neighborhood to have such a condition. He felt that since the condition is prevalent and is only cleared after several notices, the board should take action against Mr. King. All members agreed that further action should be taken to remedy the situation. o o Mr. Prater moved to set a hearing for the next meeting and have Mr. King subpoenaed immediately. The motion was seconded by Mrs. Kane and CARRIED 7-0. Case 83-CC-2 - Jack Sparks - 2716 Mango Tree - Violation of Section 712 The cars parked in Mr. Sparks' driveway were removed and Form was filed by Mr. Barnhart. Moved by Mr. Prater and Whittet to send the letter of compliance to Mr. Sparks. 7-0. the In-Compliance seconded by Mr. The motion CARR1ED Members felt that there should be some recourse for habitual offenders. Mr. Hamel suggested that members try to find some way by which this situation could be remedied and discuss it at the next meeting.
