89-O-26ORDINANCE NO. 89-0-26 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, AMENDING SECTION 19-63 "SERVICE CHARGES AND RATES" (1),(2),(3), (4), AND (5) OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, BY INCREASING THE FEES FOR GARBAGE AND TRASH COLLECTION BY THREE DOLLARS ($3.00) PER UNIT FOR RESIDENCES, MULTIPLE DWELLING, BUSINESS OR COMMERCIAL, PROFESSIONAL AND TRAILER PARK; CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION, A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: Section 19-63 - Service Charges and Rates of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Edgewater, Florida, is hereby amended as follows:* CHAPTER 19 - UTILITIES AND SERVICES Section 19-63 Service charges and rates. (a) The City shall maintain and operate a service for the collection and disposal of garbage and trash, and all persons whose premises are serviced thereby shall pay to the City for such services the following monthly rates: (1) Residence: Nine dollars and fifty cents ($9.50)-six dollars aecl-€r€Uy-0er�ts �-G SA} per month up to a maximum of three (3) cans or equivalent per pickup. For each additional can in excess of three (3) cans there shall be an additional charge of one dollar ($1.00) per can. (2) Multiple Dwelling: Nine dollars and fifty cents ($9.50) si:c-dellase-aad-t3€t}�-reais-�$(i, 54j- per month up to a maximum of three (3) cans or equivalent per pickup. For each additional can in excess of three (3) there shall be an additional charge of one dollar ($1.00) per can. A charge of eight dollars and seventy-five cents ($8.75)##�o-ldas-artd=e-Ey-€ive cent��$rr.��-j-per month per unit shall be made if the garbage and trash is centrally located. *Deleted language has beenand new language underscored. f (3) Business or Commercial: Eleven dollars ($11.00) -eight- dol3ara-�$&,134� per month for each commercial or business unit up to a maximum of three (3) cans or equivalent per pickup. For each additional can in excess of three (3) there shall be an additional charge of one dollar ($1.00) per can. (4) Professional: Nine dollars and fifty cents ($9.50) six- e3o33ai's end-€#€6y-cents-�$b,30)- per month for each professional unit up to a maximum of three (3) cans or equivalent per pickup. For each additional can in excess of three (3) there shall be an additional charge of one dollar ($1.00) per can. For each additional can in excess of three (3) there shall be an additional charge of one dollar ($1.00) per can. A charge of eight dollars and seventy-five cents ($8.75)-€ive-dellare-and-severzt-y-€.tvetertte- -($r.75+ per month per trailer or mobile home shall be charged if the garbage and trash are centrally located within the mobile home park. SECTION 2: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances and all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed. SECTION 3: If any section, part of a section, paragraph, clause, phrase or word of this ordinance is declared invalid, the remaining provisions of this ordinance shall not be affected. SECTION 4: This Ordinance shall take effect October 1, 1989, upon its adoption by the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida and approval as provided by law.
