READInG OF MINUTES. ~. l~) The minutes mf the regular meeting held Decomber 10th, 1947 were read. Councilman Barker moved they be approved as road, seconded by Councilman hussey and by vote declared CARRIED. BILLS AND ACCOUNTS. The following bills were read; New Smyrna Builders Supply Co. 8.91 Southorn Bell Telephone & ~olegraph Co. 24.96 City of New Smyrna Beach 75.99 Aspers Garage & Service Station 106.15 L. B. Bouchelle 100.00 Beauty Rest Cottagos 2.39 Clinton's Grocery .54 Councilman moved these bills be approved as read, paid and bo made part of ;c these minutes, secondod by Councilman Barker and by vote declarod CARRIED. REPORTS OF OFFICERS. Clerk read his cash statemont and budget report for the period November 1st to 30th 1947.Counoilman Hussey moved the reports be accepted, seconded by .j Counoilman Barker and by vote declared CARRIED. Councilman Barker nnnounced that an auction sale would be held in the Town Hall on Saturday December 13th, between 2:00 & 4:00 P.M. when the mowing machine owned by the Town would be sold to the highest bidder. Councilman Barker also reported that u Mr. Mize had called on him regarding fire equiptment. Councilman Barker reported that new equiptment would cost $1000.00 but MD. Mize had some second hand equiptment which oould b0 bought for much less. Council ~equested Councilman Barker to investigate farther into this matter. COMMUN ICAT IONS. Clerk read a letter from Paramount Cnnning Co.of Tampa, Florida asking if it is necess~ry to have a licemse in o~der to sell canned fruit juice in the Town of Edgewnter. Council instructed Clerk to inform Paramount Canning Co that no license is necessary so long as thier business is strictly wholsale. UNFINNISBED BUSINESS. Mr. Barrow again complained about the tax on his propwrty. Council requested Mr. Barrow to furnish them with n detailed statement of the value of everthing he had on the property January 1st, 1947. ~ . \.../ ~ v I o . ~ NEW BUSINESS. Councilman Barker moved the Council approved the Masen Subdivision Plat, seconded by Councilmnn Hussey and by vote declared CARRIED. MISC~LANEOUS BUSINESS. Mr. Burrow complained"thnt in hie oplnlon the speed of traffic on tho highwny was a danger to the school bus stopping to load or unload children He suggested th~t a one mile spoed zone bo established with signs notifing trnffic of the 25 mile ~n hour spoed limit strictly enforcod. Councilman Burkor moved that the Clerk write tho Stat~ Raad Departmon~ regarding the establishing this speod zone and the typo of signs required, seconded by Councilman Hussey and by voto doclared CARRIED. Councilman B~rker moved that tho regular mooting to be held Docember 24th 1947 be postponod until Monday Docember 29th, 1947, seconded by Council- man Hussey and by vote declared CARRIB~.
