The minutes of the rogulnr meeting held Decomber 29th, H147 and the special meeting held January 12th, 1948 were rend, Councilman ~arker moved these minutes be approvod as read, seconded by Councilman Hussey and by vote declared CARRIED. Clerk renorted that the motion of the ~own Council at the meeting of Dec,29 1947 'on.'tho transfer of the Delinouent Tax lPund and Perm::mcnt Improvemont Fund was not acceptable to the Bank. In order te transfer these funds the Bank require a certified copy of a Resolution passed by the Town Council. Attorney French requostod to draw up this resolution. Cl~rk also reported roceivint a letter from the Superior Seal & Stamp Co. of Detroi t, Michigan advis ing tho Counc il that they can fnrn ish one set of letters and figures in brnss stenclis ~t a cost of ;J.OO. Councilman Hussey moved that the Clerk order these stenHils, soconded by Councilman Barker and by vote declared CARRIED. ORDINANCES. An ordinance relative to therestricting of Riverside Drive to residentltnl district onlY,from Turgot Ave., to Boston Road. This brought up n discussion questioning the ri~ht of the Town Council to pass such an ordinance without first publishing it in a newsp~per and giving the residents of this locality a chance to express thier epinion. Councilmnn Barker moved that the ordinance be laid on the table to give Attorney French time to examine the law in this matter, secended by Councilman Hussey and by vote declared CARRIED. ... --- - --- ,. Barker, Vico- President Walter M~rshall, Finan~ial secretary, R. C. Roberts, Recording secretnry Matthew Irwin. The personnel of the Volunteer Fire Department is as follows: Chief William H. Barker Yes Ceunc ilman Barker brought up the questiop of adequate housing for the fire truck and made the proposition that the ~ire station be built on the Town property on Park Ave, This started a general discussion which resulted in Mr. Geo. H. Mason Sr. being asked if he would draw up tentative plans for a fire station and to include n recreation hall and Town officesall in the same building. On Mr. Mason's agreeing to do this Councilman Barker moved that I~yor Lohman appoint four citizens of the town to work with Mr. Mason seconded by Councilmnn Hussey and by vote declared CARRIED.
