The minutes of the mooting held July 5, 1948 were roud. CouncilmAn Hussey
moved they be approved us read, seconded. by Councilm~m Fuller and by vote
declared CARRI~D.
The Council discussed letters from Frank M. Smith and J. 1fux Massey asking for
an aQjustment of the valuation of thier property. The Council decided that in the
case of J. n~x M~ssey the valuation was. fair and just and therefor no chnnge
could be mude. In the case of Frank M. Smith whose valuation was increased this
year, tho Council decided that in acco~dance with the value of the surroundi~g
property, the increase wus nmt justified.
~{. R. Osborno appeared in p~rson before the Council claiming that his property
being assessed for the full purchaseing price, it was out of line with tho
surrounding property which was assessed at onley fifty porcont of its valuo.
Council told 1tt. Osborno that they would investigate and notify him of their
dec tsion.
Mrs. l\OWenU Hodges appeared beforo the Council to complain about the valuation
on her property. Council oxplrLined the methods used in arriving at the valuation
and felt that in her case the f1mount was fair and just nnd no reduction could
be made. .
There being no mure letters or persons to appear before the Council, Council-
man Hussey mflved that we do naw adjou~n, seconded by Councilman :B'ultler and ,by
Vote declared CARRIlill. TIME 9:00 P. M.
