READING OF THE MINUTES.
The minutes of the meeting held August 2, 1948 were read, Councilman Hussey moved 1
they be approved as read, seconded by Councilman Fuller and by vote CARRIED.
Charles Skipper appeared and asked the reason for the increase of the assessment
on his property. The Board explained that he had an excess of land bejond that
allowed by his homestead exempti~n.
Walter Marshall questioned the increase in his taxes, the Boare the impruvements
and new building accounted for the increase,
R. C. Huettick protested his assessment and aSked the $500.00 exemption allowed
Spannish War veterans, This was allowed but the assessment remained unchanged.
F. J. McMurray asked a reduction in his assessment. After cansideration the Board
refused to make any changeas they felt the assessmen~ was fair and just.
Mrs Vivian Oyler asked that. the widows exemption of $500.00 be allowed, this was
granted.
The Board granted

200 applications for homestead exemption.
