TOWN OF EDGEW A TER
VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA
December 26, 1946
Edgewater Town Council
Edgewater, Florida
Gentlemen:
The people of Edgewater have honored me greatly by
electing me a member of the Town Council. The members
of the Town Council have expressed their confidence in
me by electing me Mayor of the town. I appreciate both
honors much more than I can express in words.
Being a councilman and being mayor brings on important
duties and grave responsibilities. I have fulfilled both
offices to the very best of my ability. At the time I
sold my business in Edgewater I expected to build a home
on other property I own in Edgewater. However, with build-
ing conditions as they now are it is problematical how
soon I will be able to accomplish this and meanwhile I
must live outside the town limits of Edgewater. There-
fore I feel it is my duty to resign as Mayor and as a
member of the Council.
I tender my resignation vutb deep regret, for I wish that
it were possible for me to. continue to serve until the
expiration of the term for which I was elected. Though
my official capacity will have ended my interest in the
Town of Edgewater, and the welfare of its citizens will
remain uppermost in my heart. As a private oitizen and
as a property owner in Edgewater I here and now offer
to do all in my power to assist in bringing to completion
the projeots we have been working on.
I stand ready to assist in every possible way.
With kindest personal regards, I am,
yours.
J. J. Baumgartner
