Council, after some discussion,requested Attorney French to draw up an amendm~nt to thQ Budg.t,~o incr~aso tho appropriation by $2000.00. Councilman Hussoy reported that he was unable to SQa Mr. Coltl but as Mr. Cole was prosant, he furnished th~ dosired inforwltion, wlich was that ho agrGod to furnish thQ Town of Edgowater with certain l!,UIlbcr at tho rato of $45.00 per. thousand f..t. Mayor Councilman Lohman ordered h~yor Councilman Lohman asked for information on concreto posts for strQQt signs. Mr. Cory ugroedto m~co a price on ten posts for tho Town. Marshall Thomas was instructed~~ontact tho State Road man in r~gard to filling a hole at tho south east cornQr of Palmway and Ridgewood Avenue. Mr. Lohman reportod that the traffic light,owned by thll City of New Smyrna BQach,that EdgewatQr was interostQd in, has bQ~n brok~n thQroforo was useless. Council instructed Clark to ord~r a thrge-way light,No C811, from W.S.Darlcy & Co. ., n G ~ u J OFFICERS REPORI& continued Str~et Supervisor L~pp askod that signs be ~~da instructing tho people wh.rQ to dump rubbish on the dumping ground. Mr. Allen was request~d to maka th. signs and ~~rshall Thomas was asked to dalivar tho signs to ~~ Armstrong to be: paintod. REPORTS OF SPECIAL COMMITTEES Councilman Matth~ws reported that he had not bQlin able to contact Mr.Beck but would continua his efforts. Councilman also reported having seon Mr. Brown about thll fencQ and Mr. Brown nssured Councilman Matthllws that thGt strao would be opened by April 12, 1947. Cowlcilman Hussey, speaking for Mr. McGinnis,regarding the activities of the Edgewate:r Improvement Club, Mr. Mcginnis r~quest~d information regarding bills contracted by tho Edgowater Improvement Club. He wanted to know who would rcimbursCi him if hGl paid such bills himself. Mayor Councilman Lohman, state:d that since this is not tho business of thQ Town of Edgowatcr, tho Edg~wat5r Improvemnnt Club is entirely responsible. Attorney French r.port~d hnving drawn up n set of bylaws as r.q~asted by tho council for the Edgew~t~r Lmprovemant Club n.nd had ~~il.d thG same to Mr. H. H. Send@rs.. COMMUNI CATIONS. C~Qrk read a latter from William Dansy and ~.rcy N. Loveland protesting the granting of a permit to- place storag~ tanks for gasoline on the on thG premises at Edgewater Inn, claiming it would be a fire hazard and would causa an incr~asa in insurnnc~ rates and would oth.~vise effect the sur- rounding property. After some discussiog Attorney Franch was resquested to find out from tha Fir. UndG!rwtiters under whnt conditions a p~rmit could be grant~d and if it ~ould incrense insurance Rates. Council decidad to hold up permit until after this information had been recQivlllcl. UNFI1-llUSHED BUSINESS Councilman Matthews moved, as tho tim~ limit of 60 days had Qxpired for the accQptancc or rejection of Bids for the eroction of tha Electric Dis- tribution System, that tho Bids bE returned to the Bidders sQcondQd by Councilman Hussey and by vote declared CAERIED. Aletter from the Florida PowQr & Light Co was read to the effect that they would be unable to furnish the South ~nd of Town with elGctric sQrvicQ b.fore late in the full. Cooper " CORRECTION: that the conditions under which this permit is given docs not grant New Smyrna Beach a franchise also that the Town expects to acquire the distributmon system and will alao acquire the proproeed extension, that the Town is not waiving any rights acquired or to be acquired by legislation or litigation, past present or future, that the permit is granted subject to these conditions and is revoca~le at any time by the Town Counci~. Before construction the City of New Smyrna Beach must file a statement of the number and size of poles and quantity and size of wire in the Office of the Town Clerk of Edgewater.
