Minutes of the regylar meeting held April 9,1947 were readand, after a correc- tion by Attorney French, Councilmnn Hussey moved that they be approved, sec- onded by Councilman Matthews and by vote declared CARRIED. BILLS AND ACCOUNTS. The following bills were ~cad ; Asper~s Garage and Service Station $3.17 Councilm~n Hussey moved this bill be approved us read, paid and ~"1.de a part of these minutes, seconded by Councilman ]L~tthwws and by vote declared CARRIED. REPORTS OF OFFICERS. Street Supervisor Lapp reported, in answer to l~"1.yor Councilm~n Lohman's in- quiry, that the bridge over the canal was finished. Attorney Fremch reported contacting the agent for tae Florida Rating Bureau, who sets the insurance rates, regarding what effect,if any, the placing of storage tanRs on the property at Edgewuter Inn, would have on the insurance rates on the surrolmding property . Attorney French was assured that this would not increase the rates of insurance. Clerk read the report of the Plnnning and Budget Committee, on the revision of the Business and Occupational License Tax. The revised list, as set up by the committeq, was turned over to the Council for their consideration. No action was taken at this time . The Council wanted more time to study the report Defore acting upon it. COMMUNICATIONS. Clerk read a letter from Mr. Robert S. Fee resigning his position as chnir- ITk"1.n and member of the committee for the ~evision of the Business and Occupa- tional License Tax, since the work on that committee had been completed. Council refused to act on this resignation until after they had talked with Mr. Fee. Clerk also read a letter from Mrs. Martin Talcott of Inkster, Michigan ask- ing for building instructions regarding a temporary dwelling to live in while building their home. Council instructed the ClerIc to write, Mrs. Martin Talcott for more detailed information and plans of temporary building. RESOLUTIONS. A RESOLUTION AMENDING BUDGET. The above and foregoing resolution was intro- duced by Council~~n A. This Resolution is attached and ITh'lde a part of these minutes. NEW BUSINESS. lk'lyor Councilman Loh~'ln brought to the attention of the Council the unwork- nbility of Ordinance No. 141. An Ordinance establishing building lines on property abutting on the streets of the Town o~ Edgewater. Citing the case of property located at the corner of Ridgewood Ave and Yelkca Tarrnce . ~;'here if restrictions,of Sec. 3 of Ordinance 141 were complied with, the owner would not have room to build. This caused a general discussion and mnny similar cases were cited. Councilman ~htthews moved that Attorney French be instructed to draw up an ammendment to Ordinance 141 to read : That all buildings on RidgewClod Ave. comply with the forty foot depth and on side streets to follow the twenty foot depth,except on corner lots where the set back would be the long way of the lot~ seconded by Councilman Hussey and by vote declared CARRIED. Council~an Matthews reported a complaint made to him regarding the unsanitary condition of an out door toilet located on Hubbel Street. The owner, being present, explained that this condition was being remedied as rapidly as possible MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS. Council approved building penuits for Mrs. Rose Babkirk and Mr. Alfred Knapp. The Cowlcil received an appiicntion from ltr. Henry Brown for permission to keep bees on Lot No. 5 on Old County Road. Council instructed the Clerk to write to Mr. Brown informing him that n. letter signed by the residents of this neighborhood, stating that they have no object- ionc to his keeping bees, must be presented to the Council before they can approve such n permit. C6uncil also received an application from Mr. David Fransson for n permit to erect a 6xlG foot sign on the property owned by Richard Archambault, on Hyway No.1, Mr. Fransson claimed that he has the permission of the owner of this pro perty. Permit was approved. The delinquent tax roll was presented and approved by the Council. Council approved the granting of hnlof year beer and wine license~.; and ordered the refund of $7.50 to Charlotte and Randolph Taylor, who paid the full year. Councilman Hussey moved that we do now adjourn, seconded by Councilman 1mtthews and.by vote declared CARRIED.
