Minutes of the regular meeting held Map: 14, 1947were rend Councilmo.n Matthews moved they be approved ns re~d, seconded by Councilman Hussey and by vote declared CARRIED. BILLS AND ACCOUNTS. The following bills were read: $7.35 l3 . 50 Aspers Garnge & Service Station J.O.Birch HUll, Landers, Graham & French for Legal Services & Litigation 9~9.00 moved the bills be approved as rend,paid and made a part seconded by Councilman Mn.tthews and by vote declnred Councilm::m Hussey of these minutes, Carried. REPORTS OF OFFICERS. Mayor LohIlh"1.n, Councilman Hussey and Attorney French reported on their trip to T~llahnssee in the int~rest of the Edgewater billa then before the legis- lature.They reported a very satisfac~ory trip which resulted in the killing of wmendments unsatisf~ctory to the Town of Edgewater and the addition of new amendment. written by Attorney French. Councilman Hussey reported investigQting the swingJnnd pla~form in the play- ground and found them in bad condi tion, rn.nd would be removed before the next Council meeting. Alao t~at he had investig~ted the bad spot in the Riv~r Rond a.nd found that the condition could be remedied by using the logs in front of the toilets. Mr. Kerst wali reported no longer interested in the parallel bacs. Councilman Matthews moved that the Street Supervisor be instructed to move the burs to the Town ya.rd, seconded by Counci~nn Husseyand by vote declared CARRIED. Councilman Matthews reported having contacted Mr Bock.~who said that he would ace Mayor Loh.n1an~~ Councilman HussejJthat he had not been able to see Mr. Fcc regarding his resignation, but would do so before the next meeting. COMMUNICATIONS A letter was read from the Boy Scouts asking for a donation but no fiction W:;l.S taken. A letter was rea.d from W.E.Moore regarding the assessment on property which he considered excessive, he asked that some reduction be made. Council decided, that at this time, they had no authority to comply with his request. So, therefore, the tax must re~~in as assessed on the tax roll. A letter was received from Jess Mathas, Clerk of the Circuit Court,regnrding an application by W.J.Bigelow for tax deeds on properties for which he holds tax sale certificates. Attorney French was asked to investigate this matter, as the Town of Edgewater had fo~~closed on these properties. c~ I L" u I V . u ~ A letter was received from M.M.Talcott of Michigan, that he be allowed tQxBK ~ errect a temperary building on his lot,to be used as a dwelling, while building his home. He also sent ~ sketch of the dwelling. Council instructed the Clerk to write and inform Mr Talcott thnt the Council feels that they can approve of his pl~n~. However he must appear in person ~nd make application for building permitbefore.they can give their fin~l approval UNFINISHED BUSINESS. Marshsll Thomas was instructed to Bee F.C.Cory about concrete posts for the street signs a.nd find out when they would be ready. MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS. Clerk was instructed to write to Robertson Electric Co, Mrs. HannAh Bonnet, O.E.Southo.rd, W.L.Robertson, D.E.Settle nnd P.P.Cole, reminding them that .I they must obtain a business license in order to do business in the Town of Edgewatcr. Council instructed Clerk to write to Darley & Co. regarding traffic light 0 ordered by the Town of Edgewater some time ago. Stating need of the lignt and when they cnn expect delivery. Clerk w~s further instructed to contact the State Road Patrol and Sherrif Galbraith and inlist th~ir cooperation in controlling the traffic on Hyway No. l,in Edgewnter. Clerk was nlso instructed to write to J.U.Gillespie regarding the refund of one quarters salary according to agreement. Building permits were granted to Merril Groce and Erwin R. Lee.
