REPORTS OF OFFICERS.

the ditch which runs through his property, being clogged causing the water
to overflow his property, filling his septic tank and reaching almost to
the entrance of his home. COl.U1cil instructed Mnrsha~ Tho~'1.s and Street Supe~-
visor Lapp to. investigate anel report to Counci~.
Supervisor L'1.pp reported citizens still presist in dumping trash any where
on the dumping ground...rather than at the place designater for this purpose
Council instructed l\.{arshal Thom,.'1.s to investigate and put a stop to this
practice.
Y':1J.yor Councilmn.n Lahriiun..Jnnd Clerk reported that Mr. Panton of the State
road department was in Edgewater on Tuesday June 24th, in answer to a letter
from the Town of Edgewater in regard to. the condition of the Highway anel
the erection of speed limit signs..Mr Panton gave his assurance to ~'1.yor
Councilman Lohman th..'1.t these matters would be taken care of as soon as
possible.
COMMUNICATIONS .
Clerk read n letter from Mr Herbert F Fullc~, attorney for the Mosquito
Control Board, also a copy of a resolution, asking the Council to pass this
resolution and return to him a certified copy of the same.
A RESOLUTION.
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it resolved by the Town Council of the Town of Edgcwater,
VoluSJia County, Floridn that permission is hereby granted to the East Volusia
County Anti-Mosquito Di~trict and to such persons, firms or corporations as
it may employ, to do such aerial spraying ovar the Town of 'Edgewater as in
the opinion of the Com.rnassioners of said East Volusia COl.U1ty Anti-Mosquito
District is necessary or advisable, such spraying to be at such times and of
such ingredients and at such altitudes as in the opinion of the said Oom-
misaioners of said District is deemed nessary or advisable.
I t was properly moved by Councilman Hussey seconded by Councilman Mn.tthews
that the above and foregoing Resolution be adopted. A roll~call vote being
taken, resulted as follows:

ORDINANCE.
ORDINANCE NO. 149 entitled:
AN ORDINANCE FIXING RATES FOR RHE SALE OF ELECTRICITY WITHIN THE TOWN OF
EDGEWATER, FLORIDA
Upon motion being duly made by Councilmnn A. Hussey and seconded by Council-
man o. O. Matthews , the above and foregoing Ordinance wns rend in full and
passed by the unanimous vote of the Town COlmcil of the Town of Edgewatcr,
Florida, nt a regular meeting thereof on the 25th day of June A. D. 1947.
Upon motion duly ~~de by Councilm~n O. O. Matthews and seconded by Council-
man A. Hussey , and unanimously carried the requirement of reading said
ordinance upon second rending nt n subsequent meeting of the Town Council
was waived, and this ordinance was again redd in full and wns ordered put
ppon its final passage.
Passed by the unanimous vote of the Town COllilCil of the Town of Edgewater,
Florida at a regular meeting of aaid Council held on this~25 day of June,
A.D. ;947 and npproved as provided by law, the vote of said Council on roll

Councilman ~'1.tthews moved that the Clerk be instrucyed to send n certified
copy of this Ordinance to Mayor Pierson, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida by
registered mail and request return reciept, seconded by Councilman Hussey
and by vote declared CARRIED.
At the request of the Council Attorney French explained the meoning of this
Ordinance, to the Citizens present, that it might be fully understood.
MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS.
The Council approved building permits for Carl E. Cory and Webb A. Colb~~n.
Commissioner Poole, of New Smyrna Bench wns present and was recognised by
Mayor Lohman who introduced him to the people present.
There being no further business M..~yor Lohman moved we do now adjourn,
seconded by Councilman Matthews and by vote declared CARRIED. Time 9.00 P
