Marshall Thomas reported having received complaints from Parents of children going to school,about the method used by the Bus driver in ,icking up the children.The Council decided it had no jurisdiction in this mntter,it entirely between the Parents and the School Commission. ]Irrlrshall l'hornas reported that a large shrub at the corner of 1ferrimtl.c Ave. and the Highway obstructing the view of drivers entering the High- way. Marshall was instructed to see about having this shurb removed. CQMMUNI CATIQNS . Clerk read a letter from the City of New Smyrna Beach,it was a copy of a Hesolution passed by the City Commission on the re~orted abandonment of the North Bridge between ~ew Smyrna Beach and Coronado Beach. They requested a representative be appointed from the ~own of Edgewo.ter,.lorida to attend the next regular meet1ng of the County Commission of Volusia County ,Jl'lorida.Councilman Baumgartner moved thn t Mayor Gouncilman Stalnaker be appointed to represent the Town of Edgewater to attend that meeting,.seconded by Mayor Councilman Stalnaker and by vote declared ~ARRI.IID. .. ALL NECESSARY ~J) ORDINARY EXPEUSES AND SPECIAL AND EXTRA-ORDINARY :&U>ENSES FOR THE TOWN OF EDGEWATER~./I VOLUSIA COUNTY ,FJJJRIDA, FOR THE YEAR BEGINING OCTOBER I ,X.D .I945,AND END~ ING SEPTEMBER 30th,A.D.I946 The above and foregoing Resolution was introduced by Mayor Councilman Stalnaker who moved its adoption, which motion was seconded by Counci~- m~n Baumgartner and upon a roll call vote the same was deqlared adopted, unanimously, the vote of the Council being as follows ,at:1.a regular meeting of the said Town Council held at the V.I.A.hall this 12th,day of September A.D .1945. Mayor Councilman Stalnaker Councilman Southard Councilman Baumgartner Yes Absent. Yes. NEW BUSINESS. Rccomendations by the Hoard of Adjustment were read,requesting the Town " Council to ask Councilman Southard for his resignation and a vouncilman be appointed to fill the vacancy until the next regular election of said Town,also that the Council consider lifting the restrictions on Highway #1 After some consideration of the Tmltter of asking for Council~n ~outhnrdrs resignation,the Council decided to declare the Office vacant,whereupon Oounci~~n Baumgartner moved that the Office of Oo~cillnan Southard be declared vacant and that Harry B.Ga~~ be appointed to fill the ~acnncy until the next regular election,seconded by Mayor CouncilTIk~n Stalnaker and by vote declared CARRIED; whereupon the Oath of Office duly administered to harry B.Garmnn was taken and subscribed to by him and tiarry B.Garman was declared the duly qualified member of the Town Council to fill the vacancy until the next regular election in said Town. COilllCilTnan Baumgartner moved that Attorney Gillespie,be instructed to draw an Amendment to zoning Ordinance 104 ~ifting the restrictions on Highway #1 and that new buildings mu~t have the approval of the ~oard o~ Adjustment seconded by Councilman Garman and by vote declared CARRIED. After a canvass of the ~gistrntion ~ook Mayor COtmcilmnn Stalnaker moved that '~IO) names as listed be stricken from the Hegistration Book and that 1hesc nnmns be posted in four publiC places,one of which shall be at the JfrOn'c Door of the V.I .A.
