"READ ING OF MINUTES.
The minutes of the meeting of Decembor 15th, 1942 were read whereupon Council-
man Stalnaker moved that they be approved as read, seconded by Councilman
Bailey and by vote declared CARRIED.
BILLS AND ACCOUNTS.
The following bills were read:

J.S.Bates, Fire Chief.
City of New Smyrna Beach.
Joe Scheitle.
Councilman Stalnaker moved that the bills be approved,
a part of these minutes, seconded by Councilman Bailey
CARRIED.

Mayor Southard reported on lighting as effected by dimout regulations and
also on street lighting.
The Clerk read his finanicial statements for the Month of December.
Councilman Bailey moved that they be approved and be made a part of these
minutes, seconded by Councilman Stalnaker and by vote declared CARRIED.
'llhe Clerk further reported that the lette.rswhiah Council had ordored written
to property owners to clean lots, had beon sont but that no answers had been
received. Also that tho School Bus Stop Zone signs had been removed.
The Marshall reported that tho first bridge West of the Railroad on Park Ave.
had boon damaged by a truck owned by a Mr. Manning and that he had been
ordered to repair the damage done by crossing this bridge with a heavior
load than tho bridge could stand. Mr. Gillespie was requested to write to
Mr. Manning.
Time Reports wore filed by Mr. Moore and !~. Bates, for the period Dec. 16th"
to Dec. 31st, Inclusive.
Attorney Gillespie reported on the progress of the Dick Suit.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS.
The License case of W.E.Hardiman was discussed and continued until the next
meeting.
NHW BUSINESS,
Counoilman Stalnaker moved that Harry A.Moore be allowed three days vacation
with pay, seconded by Councilman Bailey and by vote declared Carried.
At this time Councilman Bailey was excused.

NEW BUSINESS. Continued.
Mr. R.C.Baker spoke to Council upon the need of additional sirens to sound
air raid alarms. ~his matter was fully discussed and the Mayor appointed the
following as a committee to investigate the subject and to report to Council
at their next meeting.
