The minutes of the meetings held on January 19th, January 26th and February 2nd, 1943 were read, whereupon Councilman Bailey moved that they be approved as read, seconded by Councilman Southard and by vote declared CARRIED. BILLS AND ACCOUNTS. The fall.owing bills were read: New Smyrna Tire Co. T.E.Cory. City of New Smyrna Beach. Southern Bell Telephone Co. J.S.Bates. Tom Brooker and T.N.Stratton. Clerks Miss. Cash. Salaries for February. O.E.Southard. George L.Bailey. Walter C.Fuller. J.S.Bates. HarrybA.Moore. J.S.Bates,Fire Chief. J.U.Gillespie. Central Service Station. Councilman Bailey moved that these bills be part of the minutes, seconded by Councilman CARRIED. The Clerk was instructed to write the owner" about this condition and suggest that he have the property cleaned for his own protection. The Clerk read his Finanical Reports for the Month of January. Counci~ Bailey moved that they be made a part of these minutes, seconded by Councilman Southard and by vote declared CARRIED. J.S.Bates and Harry A.MOore filed their reports for January 16th to 31st Ind. Mr. Bates also reported that a bridge over a small ditch on the Old County Road North of Park Ave. was in need of some repair~. Mr. Moore was requested to make the neccessary repairs. Mr. Moore reported that he was cleaning the River Road, and had completed the Fernald Street fire break South of New Hampshire Ave. Mr. Moore was instructed to obtain Lumber and repair the Ocean Ave. Dock at a cost not to exceed $25.00 The Clerk reported that ten days had elapsed since Posting Lot 207, Hawks Park Land Co. sub. and in consequence the ~qrshall could proceed with the cleaning, in accordance with Ordinance No. 75. _.~ u u . ,~r- U 'C!- u ~ Minutes of February 6th, 1943. Page 2. REPORTS OF SPECIAL COMMITTEE. Attorney Gillespie reported that the Express Delivery Petition would be presented to the Railwa.y Commission at their next meeting. 1 __ 'L. He also reported upon the e.B .Diek suit proceedings. ~ -1' COMMUNICATIONS. A letter was read from 1~s. Ann Norris relative to a fire hazard on lots 3 and 4, Edgewater Highlands Sub. The Clerk was instructed to write the Owner requesting that these lots be cleaned. NEW BUSINESS. A property owner requested information as to the Town Truck hauling away some Palmetto Logs from the Street in front of Lot 11, Block E, seotion 1, High- land Shores Sub. The Clerk was instructed to advise that this would be done if he would pay for the costs incurred in the operation.
