The minutes of the meeting of May 18th, 1943 were read, whereupon Council- man Bailey moved that they be approved as read, seconded by L:ouncilman Stalnaker and by vote declared CARRIED. BILLS AND ACCOUNTS. The following bills were read: L:ity of New Smyrna Beach. $3~.19 L:lerks Miss. L:ash. 3.7~ Industrial Amrine Co. 2.2~ Stallings-Jenkins Co. 2.~~ J~S.Bates. 4.10 J.S.Bates, Marshall. 11.78 ~om Brooker. T.N.Stratton. 2~.00 H.and W.B.Drew Co. 1.68 Councilman Bailey moved that these bills be approved, be paid and be made a part of the minutes, seconded by Councilman Stalnaker and by vote declared CARRIED. REPORTS OF OFFI CERS . The Clerk read his finanical reports for the month of May. Councilman Bailey moved that they be made a part of these minutes, seconded by Councilman Staln~cer and by vote declared L:ARRIED. The Clerk was instructed to report lights out at Evergreen Street and at Yelcka Terr. and the Highway. Mr. Bates and Mr. Moore filed time reports forMay 15th to May 3lst,1943. After a discussion on the 'l'raffic Light at Park Ave. and the Highway it was ~ordered tQAt the three way light be turned on in an endeavor to cut down the speed at which cars are driven thru the Town on Ridgewood Ave. UNFINISHED BUSINESS. A Petition for the closing of the oouth 2~Ot of Live Oak Street, signed by Two property Owners representing ~OOt of the total of ~,O' of Street frontage was presented. Councilman Southard moved that the Petition be tabled, seconded by Council- man Bailey and by vote declared CARRIED. NEW BUSINESS. A report was received that the Keely Property on Hiverside Drive between Woodley Ave. and Connecticut Ave. was a fire hazard. ~he Marshall .as in- structed to inspect and to obtain a price for cleaning a~d the vlerk to write the Owner for his co-operation in having the lots cleaned. Herbert W.Lee was granted permission to use some of the Palmetto Logs on the dump East of the Park Ave. Flow Well. Counci~~n Bailey moved that the Clerk issue a Permit to H.L.Haughton to keep 30 Hives of Bees on his property, Seconded by Councilman titalnaker and by vote declared L:ARRIED.
