READIUG OF MINUTES.
The minutes of the meeting of June 1st, 1943 were read, whereupon ~ounci1man
Stalnaker moved that they be approved as read, seconded by Gouncilman
Southard and by vote declared CARRIED.

REPORTS OF OFFICERS.
The Clerk as 'l'ax Collcctor read'.;.a report of thc Collection of Taxes for the
Tax. Year 1942.
~ouncilman Stanaker moved that this report be made a part of the minutes,
seconded by Councilman Southard and by vote declared CARRIED.
Mr. MOore and Mr. Bates filed time reports for the period of June 1st to 15th.
'rhe Clerk, was requested to report to ~ity Manager ]'ee the street lights out
on the Highway.
Mr. Moore reported having removed a dead horse for J.J.Lofton. and Council
decided there would be no charge for this work with the Truck.
It was reported th~t the trees in front of ~orneli& ~ees property obscured
the view at the bend of Riverside Drive at that point. The Mayor and Mr. Moore
were to look over the condition to see what could be done.
The City Dock was reported unsafe at the end towards the River ~hannal and
it developed that the sign to use at own risk was still in place at the road
end of the causeway. .
Council requested the ~lerk to write ~merine ~ilkin8on owner of Lots 33,34
and 35, Palmetto Park Sub., in reference to a fire started on her property
cont~ry to Ordinance ~o. ~, and render a bill for the expense incurred by_
the ''fown.
REPORTS OF COMMITTEES.
The committee on Air Raid Alar.m reported that the whistle was being rebui~t.

The resignation of J.~.Bates as Town Marshal~ effective July lst,1943 was
read in full. ~ouncil requested of Mr. Bates that he serve until another
Officer could be selected.
Attorney Gillespi~ reported that he will file a motion with the ~ourt to
dismiss the suit of P.B.Dick.

NEW BUSINESS.
Councilman Stalnaker moved that the Ulerk be authorized to issuc permits
to keep bees to Mr. Raas~ey and Mr. Geiger, Seconded by Councilman Southard
and by vote dec~ared CARRIED.
Councilman Southard moved that lease between the Town of Edgewater and
Scott M.Loftin and Edward W.Lane as Trustees of the Property of Florida
East Coast Rai~way Company dated August 6th, 1$41 be terminated as of
August 5th, ~943, seconded by Councilman Stalnaker and by Vote declared
unanimously CARRIED.
The C~erk was requested to write G.D.Brinkerhoff to have his property cleaned.
Mr. Moore was instructed to move the Town of Edgewater speed limit sign
located at the North end of Town on the Highway to the South end where a
sLmialar sign was destroyed.
Councilman Sta~naker moved that we adjourn, seconded by Councilman Southard
