The Clerk read the call for the meeting which call was posted as of June 16th 1943. Councilman Stalnaker moved that the call be made a part of these minutes, seconded by Councilman Bailey and by vote declared CARRIED Business. The Clerk reported that 93 Applications for Homestead Exemption had been received and had been approved by him acting as Tax Assessor. He also reported. that Applications by letter had been received from the following; Mrst Dora Christainson. L.R.Turner. David K.MCGinnis. T. C .Brown. After a lenghty discussion of each indivual caso the fOllowing motions were off<lred. and passed. Uounci~ Bailey moved that the apllications of T.C.Brown, Frank M.Carr, David K.McGinnis,L.R.Turner and Loraine M.DeMuth be approved and allowed, sOQonded by Uouncilman Stalnaker and by vote declared CARRIED. ~ouncilman Stalnaker moved that the Apllications of Paul M.Ruby and Dora Christainson be disapproved and not be granted, seconded by Councilman Bailey and by vote declared unamiously Carries. Mrs. Loraine M. DeMuth. Paul M.Ruby. Frank M.Carr. The Clerk reported having received the State Florida East Coast Railway. Pullmo.n Co. Postal Telegraph Cable Co. and that the following companies had filed their own returns, The American Oil Co. Gulf Oil Corporation. American Telegraph and Telephone Sijuthern Bell Telephone Uo. Telegraph Co. Florida East Coast Railway Model Land Co. ThesG records were received and ordered made a part of the files. Comptrollers Valuations for the Western Union Telegraph Co. Fruit Growers Express Uo. and ~he Clerk reported that the Tax Assessment Roll for the Year 1943 had been . . completed and presented the same to the Board. He further advised that in placing the valuations there had been 31 personS noti<<ied as there had been that many increases. Also that 66~3% of the Comptrollers valuations Was used on the Roll. The information was received by the Board for consideration at the next meeting.
