READIUG OF MINUTES.
The mi~utes of the meetings of September 21st and October 5th were read
whersupon Councilman Stalnaker moved that they be approved as read, second-
ed by Councilman Southard and by vote declared CARRIED.
BILLS AND ACCOUNTS.
The following bills were read:

Counci~'1.n Stalnaker moved that these bills be approved, be paid and be made
a part of the minutes, soconded by Councilman Southard and by vote declared
Carried.
REPORTS OF OFFICERS.
The Clerk read his monthly finanicial reports for the month of September and
also a report of Receipts and Bisbursements for the year end~g September 30.
Councilman ~talnaker moved that these reports be made a part of th~ minutes,
seconded by Councilman clouthard and by ~ote declared CAffi\IED.
1IT. Moore and Mr. Thomas submitted reports for the period September 15th to
30th.
Mr. l~ore brought the need of shell for the street repairs and nfter a dis-
cussion it was decided that the Mayor and Mr. Moore would make inquiry ut the
Packard Plnce and Councilnk'1.n Stalnrucer was to see Mr. Duss.
1tt. Moore was requested to put material on Highland Ave. in order to have the
water run off the street.
Mr. Thonms reported that complaint had been made about dumping South of the
Flow Well beyond the ~outh line of Park Ave. Council ordered the Clerk to
have a sign I!lD.de and erected. Sign to read "NO D1J1'.J!1PING SOUTH OF THES SIGH."

C01iiIMillITCATIONS.
A letter dated October 1st, 1943 from Paul D.Leddin, Sec'y of the Board of
Adjustment was rend. The letter suggested the names of Guy N.Pellett and
Melvin", \f. Johnson to take the places of Edward J.Ryan and Wm.G.Blair.
Counci~n Stalnaker moved that Guy U.Pellett and Melvin~W.Johnson be appoint-
ed to serve on the Board of Adjustment, that the A~torney draw up the nee-
cessary Resolution, seconded by Council~'1.n Southard and by Vote declared
Carried.
Attorney Gillespie read his letter of September 22nd, 1943 to Mrs. I.t'1.ybelle
LohmLm in reply to her letter regarding a Town of Eclgewater Sign. He also
rand Mr. E.H.Lohrrk'1.n's reply of September 30th, 1943,cnding with a request
that the sign be removed. Council decided not to remove the sign at the
present time.

NEW BUSIlffiSS.
Councilman Stalnaker moved that 0. contract to purchase with T.C.Cortez for'
Lots 27, 28 and 29, Block D, Section 1, Highland Shores Sub., at a total
price of $210.00 payable $25.00 down, $10.00 per monjh for 8 months and $15.00
~or month for 7 months be approved confirmed, seconded by Counci~'1.n Southard
and by vote declared CARRIED.
Councilman Stalnaker moved that a $10.00 option for the p'urchase of Lot 1,
Block C, Section 1, Highland Shores Sub. on or before December 20th, 1943 for
the listed price of $100.00 be approved and confirmed, seconded by Cotmcilman
Southard and by vote declared CARRIED.
Councilman Stalnaker moved that a price of $375.00 for Lots 19, 20 and 21,
Block C., Section 3, Highland Shores Sub. with ~25.00' paid now, $50,00 paid
November 1st, making u down payment of $75.00 the balance on a contract t9
purchase on standard terms be approved and confirmed, seconded by Councilman
Southard and by vote declared CARRIED.
Councilmnn titnlnaker moved that lots 24 be priced at $90.00. lot 25 be priced
at $175.00 both in Block F, Section 2, Highland Shores ~ub., sceonded by
CounciL~n douthard and by vote declared CARRIED.
Councilman Stalnaker moved that Burgman Bros. be given the printing of Tnx
Receipts at their price of $18.65 for 2000 sets, 400 sets for 1943 being bound
in four books, the balance delivered unbound, seconded by CounciDlli~n Southard
and by vote declared CARRIED. '

NOTICE is hereby given that the Town Council
of ~~e Town of Edgewater,. Volusia County, Florida, under and
by: virtue of the authority vestad in it by the laws of the
State of Florida, and the Ordinances of said Towh, has
ordered an annual election to be held on TUESDAY, the
SECOND (2nd) DAY of NOVEMBER, A. D. 1943, at the TO\VN HALL
(otherwise known as the Community or V. I. A. HALL) for the
purpose of electing ONE COUNCILMAN for the Term of three (3)
years, and ONE TOM~ CLERK for the Term of one (1) year, or
until their or each of their successors is or are duly elected
and qualified. The polls for said election shall be open at
the hours of SEVEN (7&00) O'CLOCK, A. M. EASTERN WAR TIME,
and shall close at SIDiDOWN on the day of said election.
Said election shall be held in substantial con-
formity with the laws and rules applicable to General Elec-
