The minutes of December 29th, 194] were raad, whereupon Councib~~n Southard moved that they be approved as read, seconded by Councilman Stalnaker and by vote declared CARRIED. BILLS A1~ ACCOillITS. The Clerk rqad his finanical reports for the month of December, Whereupon Councilman Southard moved that they be made a part of the minutes, seconded by Councilman 8tnlnaker and by vote declared CARRIED. Mr. Moore and }~. Thomas filed their reports for December 16th to 31st. The Clerk read a report on Town Tax Leins on the properties within the limits of Edgewater on which the County Foreclosure suit was pending. This was refered to the Town Attorney for proper action. Supervisor Moore brought up the question of obtaining shell for the Streets.No action taken. COMMUNI CAT I Ol'lS . The Clerk read a letter dated Jan. 7th,1944 from V.H.Crisman requesting the cleaning of Lot 20, Ass'rs Sub. G.Alvarcz Grant, on account of a Fire Hazard. Act~on defered until the next meeting. ORDINANCES. Ordinance No. 122 entitled, "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF ORDINAliCE NO. 109, SO AS TO PROVIDE FOR A SALARY OF $85.00 PER MONTH FOR THE SUPERVISOR OF THE STREETS OF THE TOWN OF EDGE\\fATER, FLORIDA." was read in full. Councilman Stalnaker moved that Ordinance No. 122 be passed upon first reading, seconded by.Councilman Southard and by vote declared CARRIED. Councilman Stalnaker moved that the requirement of raeding Ordinance No. 123 on second reading be waived and that said Ordinance be placed upon final pass- age, seconded by Councilman Southard and by vote declnred unanimously CARRIED. If was read in full. Councilman Southard moved t~~t Ordinance No. 124 be passed upon first reading, seconded by Councilman Stalnaker and by vote declared CARRIED. David A.Thomas, Fire Cheif, recommended the appointment of the following as Call Men, Paul Brewer, H.R.Brewer, Gus Swiney, Ray Balantyme,Paul Smith, H.P.Willcinson, Jolly Lofton,F.C.Cory, Chas. 3mith, Ralph Giddens, A.H.Jolly, and H.Peck, and that Harry A.Moore be appointed Assisstant Fire Chief. Councilman 3talnaker moved that theGappofuntment of these men be confirmed, seconded by Councilman Southard and by vote declared CARRIED. The matter of a dock on the Town property was discussed and Mr. MOore was requested to find out t~e cost of the necessary material. Several men have vollmteered to liolp with the building. The matter was to be taken up again at the meeting of January 26th, 1944. Councilman Stalnaker moved that the condition of the Dalrymple and Richmond properties be declared a nuisance and that the Clerk serve notice on the owners to clean same, seconded by Councilman Southard and by vote declared CARRIED. Councilman Stalnaker moved that Ralph Giddens be paid $5.00 for the finishing of the cleaning of Lots 1,2,3, and 4, Fernald and Chadwick Replat, seconded by Councilman Soutthard and by ~ote declared CARRIED. NEW BUSINESS. Mr. Moore was requested to clean Oakridge Ave, from the bridge to the dest. He was also requested to prepare a list of material necessary to build a bridge over the drainage Ditch on ~ildwood Ave. The Attorney was requested to write the Mosquito Control Board to clean the drainage ditch running North from Park Ave. to the Canal.
