The minutes of the meeting of January 26th.were readt Whereupon CounciL~an Southard moved that they be approved as read, seconded by Councilman Stal- n~cer and by vote declared CARRIED. BILLS AND ACCOUNTS. The following bills were read: City of New dmyrna Beach. Southern Bell Telephone Co. Salaries for February. Cash. 9.31 T.N.Stratton.- Tom Brucker. 16.00 Councilman Southard moved that these bills be approved,be P?id part of these minutes, seconded by Councilman Stalnaker and by CARRIED . $7 I) . 99 8.04 and be made a vote declared REPORTS OF OFFICERS. The clerk read his finanicial report for the month of JanuarYt whereupon Councilman Southard moved that it be made a part of the minutes, seconde~ by Counciblli~n Stalnaker and by vote declared CARRIED. The clerk also reported the receipt of a certificate of Deposit of date Jan. 29th,1944, numbered 96t for the sum of $1500.00 and given by the Bank of New Smyrna. ._~ Mr. Moore and Mr. Thomas filed thei~ reports for the period from January 16th to January 31st, 1944. Mr. Tho~~s reported the Flashing signal at Park Ave. and the Highway needed taken down for repatrs and that the light at Palmway and the Highway was out and broken. The Clerk ~RS ordered to take up these repairs with the City ~~nager, New Smyrna Beach. The question of road clearance of street lights on the Highway was brought up and Mr. Thomas was asked to check this and report his findings to the Clerk for transmission to the City of New Smyrna Beach. Mr. Moore reported that Wildwood Ave had been cut and the brush burned. Mr. Koore was to build tile bridge over the ditch on wildwood Ave. at a tiin.e.:r when conditions of the ditch water was right. SPECIAL COMMITTE. Councilman Stalnaker for the committe on purchase of bridge lumber reported that all price~~iRptai~ed were the same and that an order for 2M feet at $60.00 a thousand had b~en placed with the New Smyrna Novelty ~orks. , tr-~ - ~ .. Mr. Moore was to obtain some palmetto logs and lay down for a base and then put dirt on top of them. This refers to an approach from Riverside Drive to the shore in front of the Lot owned by the Town. NEW BUSINESS. Couneiblli~n Southard moved that the following permits be grantdd: E.T.Minton, to keep 3 Hogs. J.F.Vallario, to keep 6 Hogs. T.E.Cory, to keep 3 Hogs, and that the Clerk issue same upon the payment of the required fcc, seconded by Counci~~n Stalnaker and by vote declared CARRIED. Mr. MOore was asked to report on the removal of a tree on Oakridge Ave. which was considered dangerous to traffic. The Clerk wa s instructed to ask T.J.OtHagan by letter if he would se~l the shell on his property. The Clerk was authorized to add to the Bills already approved, a bill 'of T.N. Stratton and Tom Brucker af $4.00 for cleaning Lot 6, D.Forsters Replat and $12.00 for the cleaning of the Dalrymple Property, being the east 150' of Lot 22 Excl. the South 36', Ass~rs Sub. of G.Alvarez Grant. The motion to approve the above Bill was made by Councilman Southard, seconded by Councilman Stalnaker and by vote declared CARRIED. Counci~~n Southard moved that the condition of Lot 10, D.Forsters Replat be declared a nuisance, that it be posted and cleaned in accordance with the law seconded by Council~~n Stalnaker and by vote declared CARRIED. 1 CounciL'l1lD.n Stalnalcer,\ that the Town contribute the sum of Five Dolla;rsto the U.S.O. Fund now being solicited, seconded by Councilman Southard and by vote declared CARRIED.
