Motion was made by CounciL~n Southard and seconded by CounciL~n Bailey that the minutes be approved as read. Upon vote, this motion CARRI.d:n . Southard 2.00 Central Service Station 1.40 Hall ~~chine Shop 1.75 Fire Department 5.00 A Motion was made by Councilman Bailey and seconded by Councilllk~ Southard that these bilhbe paid. Upon vote, this Motion, CARRIED. OFFICER'S REPORTS The Supervisor and Marshall's reports were presented and accepted. The Clerk's Cash Report and Appropriation Report were read. A Motion was made by Councilman Bailey and seconded by Councilman Southard, that these reports be accepted. Upon vote, this Motion CARRIED. The question of having a street light at the corner of Park Ave., and the Highway, in connection with the traffic light at that corner was discussed. Upon Motion by Counci~~n Bailey which was seconded by Councilman Southard, the Council voted upon having Mayor-Councilman Stalnaker and Councilman Southard call upon the New Smyrna Officials and nmke whatever arrangements were necessary, in order to obtain this additional light. Attorney J. U. Gillespie reported that the Bank of New Smyrna would take the necessary steps to deposit the Bonds, to secure the Tovm Accounts, and would communicate with the Tovm when such action had been perfonued. The Clerk reported that she had inquired at the Bank of New Smyrna regarding the rental of one of the small size Safety Deposit Boxes, and had been informed that none of the smaller size boxes were available at this time but that they would place the na.'11e of the Town on the "Waiting Listtt and would notify them as soon as one could be secured. The 1furshall reported that he had had a request from Mrs. McLaughlin to have the lot adjoining her property on Ocean Ave., cleaned of brush and the Clerk was instructed to communicate \.... . v .~ I V .. t.." '-" with the owner of the lot regarding it. Harry Moore reported that Merchamts, apparently, either in or out of the Town of Edgewater, were dumping trash and rubbish at the West End of Park Ave., within the Town limits. Attorney J. U. Gillespie suggested that a sign be erected there prohibiting the dunWing of trash, under penalty of the law. There were no reports from Standing or Special Conmdttees. NEW BUSINESS Councilman Southard explained that arrangements were being made to establish a YOUTH CENTER for 'teen age school child- ren, said Center to be located in the Falkner Street School in New Smyrnn Beach. All Organizations and Municil~~lities in this i~nediate ~icinity are being asked to co-operate, by malcing donations for this purpose. A Motion was made by Mayor-Councilman Stqlnaker oo1d seconded by Counci~~n Bailey that the Town of Edge- water donate the sum of $35.00 for this purpose, the sum to be drawn from the Park & Play Ground Fund if, and when, the Sponsors of the Cause should call upon the Town for their donation. Upon vote, this Motion CARRIED. Mayor Stalnaker brought up the question of having an HONOR BOARD erected in the Town with the names of all of the local persons who are in the different branches of the Government Ser- vice. After discussing the matter, a Committee composed of Mrs. Florence SWiney, Mrs. Belle K. Smith, Mrs. Paul Brewer and ~~r- shall Thomas were appointed to secure a list of the names of these persons, in order to learn what size board would be necessary for the purpose. The Council decided to sell one of their extra Blue Print Maps of the Town of Edgewater, to Harry B. Garman for the sum of $4.00 There being no further business to discuss, a Motion was made by CounciLlllan Southard, seconded by Mayor Stalnaker that the meeting adjourn.
