REGULAR MEETING OF THE TOWN COIDWIL
HELD IN V. I. A. HALL, MAY 24th, 1944.
Meeting was called to Order by Mayor-Councilman Henry
Stalnaker at 7:30 P. M..

READING OF MINUTES
Minutes of the meeting of 1by 10th were read. Motion
was made by Councilman Southard, seconded by Councilman Bailey
that the minutes be approved as read. Upon vote, this motion
CARRIED.

REPORTS OF OFFICERS.
The Supervisor's and ~~rshall's reports were presented
and accepted.
The Clerk reported that a letter had been written regard-
ing the cleaning of the lot next to Mrs. McLaughlin's but had not
received a reply up to the present time. She was also instructed
to write a letter to the Trustees Internal Improvement Fund at
Tallahassee, Florida regarding the cleaning of such lots in the
Town which were owned by the State, and were reported as being
"fire hazards". .
The ~~rshall reported that he had secured 30 names of
local people who arc in different branches of the Government
Service, and whose names are to be placed on the "HOnOR BOARD" .
He was also instructed to consult MI. Brewer regarding the size
of board necessary for such purpose, and as to the painting of it.
I t was decided to have "HONOR ROLL OF THE TOWN OF EDGEWATER,
FLORIDA" painted at the top, with the list of names following,
and additional space left so that more names could be added if it
were necessary.
"The Supervisor reported that he had erected a "NO Dm,~-
ING" sign at the West End of Park Avenue where people had been
throwing trash;
,REPORTS OF STANDING C01~vITTTEES
Mayor-Councilnk~n Stalnaker reported that he and Council-
man Southard had called upon Mr. J. C. Ferris, City ~~nager of New
Smyrna Beach, regarding the additional light to be placed at the
corner of Park Avenue and the Highway and that the following day
the light was in operation.
There were no reports from Special Committees and no
New BU.siness to be discussed.

There being no further business to be discussed, a motion
was made by Councibnan Bailey, seconded by Councilman Southard that
.the moeting adjourn. Upon vote, this motion CARRIED and the meeting
adjourned at 8:15 P. M.
