Meeting was called to order by M~or-Councilman Henry Stalnaker at 8:05 P. M. ROLL CALL, READING OF MINUTES Mayor-Councilman Henry Stalnaker Councilman George L. Bailey Councilman o. B. Southard ' Clerk Olive B. Parker Attorney J. U. Gillespie Present Pre se nt Present Pre sen t Pre son t Minutes of the meeting of September 13th were read. Motion was made By Councilman Bailey, seeonded by Councilman Southard, that these minutes be approved as read. Upon vote, this motion CARRIED. BILLS & ACCOUNTS The following bills were read and presented:- J. O. Birch J;7~50 Houston P. Goodbread 5.00 Whitney Hardware 2.50 F. C. Cory 2.37 Motion was made by Councilman Bailey, seconded by Counoilman Southard, that these bill be allowed and paid. Upon vote, this motion CARRIED. COMMUN ICAT IONS A letter was read by Attorney Gillespie regarding spoilage for the Town from the dredging of the Inland Waterway. The letter was placed on file until some action could be taken at a future date. A request was read from F. W. Totman for permission to tie a boat at the River shore at the end of Connecticut Avenue. This permission was granted by the Council. A request was also read from the residents on New Hampshire Ave. for the installation of a light on that street between the Highway and the Riverside Drive; also for one at Woodley Avenue and Riverside Drive. The Council agreed to have these lights installed and a request was in turn to be sent to J. C. Ferris, City Manager of New Smyrna Beaoh to have the matter taken oare of. A RESOLUTION was read by Attorney Gillespie. by Councilman Bailey, seconded by Councilman Southard, be adopted, "and a copy of same be made a part of these Roll Call vote being taken, was as follows:- Mayor-Councilman Henry Stalnaker Councilman George L. Bailey Councilman O. E. Southard whereupon, said RESOLUTION was adopted. ORDINANCE No. 125, en ti tIed "AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING REVENU1~ TO BE C,OLLECTED BY THE TOWN OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, FOR 2.1B:E FI SCAL YEAR, 3....:Gl EEGINNING OCTOBER 1st, 1944, AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30TH, 1945, TO THE VARIOUS ,ITEMS OF THE TOWN BUDGET." ViAS READ BY Attorney Gillespie, a oopy of which appears in and has been made a part of these minutes. Counoilman Bailey moved that Ordinance #125 be passed upon first reading, seconded by Councilman Southard, and by vote declared CARRIED. Councilman Bailey moved that the requirement of reading Ordinance #~25 on second reading bo ~aived, and that said Ordinance be placed upon flnal passage, seconded by Councilman Southard, and by vote declared CARRIED. rVhereupon it was moved by Councilman Bailey, seoonded by Council- man Southard, that Ordinanco #125 be passed and adopted and a ROLL CALL being taken on this motion, resulted as follows:- Mnyor-Councilman Henry Stalnaker "Yes" Councilman George L. Bigelow regarding the cleaning of his property in back of the "SHIP" which had been declared a fire hazard. There being no further business to transact, a motion was in order for adjournment. Motion was made by Councilman Bailey, seconded by Councilman Southard that the meeting adjourn. Upon vote, this motion carried, and tho meeting adjourned at 8:45 P. M..
