READING OF MINtYfES.
The minutes of the meeting held on lk1y 7th and May 12th were read, whereupon
Councilman Southard moved that they be approved as read, seconded by Council
man Bailey and QY vote declared CARRIED.

Councilman Southard moved that the bills be approved, paid and be Ir1'3.de a. part
of the minutes, seconded by Councilman Ba.iley and by vote declared CARRIED.
OFFICERS REPORTS.
The Clerk reported having written Sidney H .Taylor, l.'[rs. Vesta Hart, and also
receiving notice that the special Police Badges would be shipped about May
29th.
The ~~rshall reported that there was no objection on the application of D.K.
McGinn~s to keep bees on his property. The Clerk was ordered to issue
permi.t.
The Marshaal reported that the work on Wilkinson Street had been finished.
COMMITTEE REPORTS.
Chairman Soutllard reported that the ditch had been finished on Flagler Ave.
and that the ditch runnir~ from the Highway thru the Lutz property to the
river had been cleaned.
COMMUlnCATIONS .
The resignation of Mr. E.A.Lembeck as a member of the Board of Adjustment
of date May 11, 1942 was read in full.
Councilman Southard moved that the resignation of E.A.Lembeck as a member
of the Board of Adjustment be accepted and that the Clerk write a letter to
Mr. Lembec~ expressing Council's appreciation for the service that he rend-
ered, seconded by Councilman Bailey and by vote declared CARRIED.
tThTFIlITSHED BUSINESS.
The ~hrshall presented bids received from Joseph Korsis and Cecil Loftron
for the cleaning of lots which had been posted but not as yet cleaned by the
Owners. After a lenghty discussion and a checking of the bids it was decid-
ed that the Committee would check further and make an award.
F.R.Renwick complained that'Lots 7 and 8, Raulerson Sub. to the South and ~
the ~est of his house was a fire hazard and asked that Council view and take
action.

NEW BUSIEESS.
A general discussion of dimout regu~ations, the dimout of street lights,
the po~icing of thc Highway during the dimout and the possib~e ways and
means of comp~ying with theArmy's orders resulted in a deceisionto obtain
more comp~ete information. Mr. O.E.Southard volunIDered to look after the
South end of th. Highway and to obtain his helpers. Mr. F.R.Renwick
offered his services for two hours. The Vice Mayor advised that this dim-
out police work was a Civilivian Defense duty and didnot come under the
Town's Police work.

It is here recorded that the fol~owing citzens were present;
Ralph B.Mil~er, F.R.Renwick, C.D.Bartlett,Grant Gonyeau, J.S.Bates, Harry
rf'loore, H.G.Smith, Paul Brewer, Robert E.Fuller and E.J.Ryan.
At this time Mr. C.D.Bartlett addressed Council and read from. a list of 36
Q..uestions with the request that each question be answered. It was further
requested that this list of questions be made a part of the minutes.

The Clerk reported that a contract to purchase had been signed for Lots
12 and 13, Block D, Section 1, Highland Shores Sub. for C.C.Yoodward at
the prices on the approved list and under standard terms.
Councibnan Southard moved that the Vice Mayor and the C~erk be and they are
hereby authorized to sign a deed conveying Lot l~t Block C, Section 1,
Highland Shores Sub. to Phil~ip G. and Marcie A.Orr for the sum of Twenty-
five Do~ars, seconded by Counc~lman Bai~ey and by vote declared CARRIED.
The Clerk reported t!k~t he had received an offer of $75.00 for Lot 5, Block
C, Section 3, Highland Shores Sub. as;; against the list price of $100.00.
This offer was made by Mrs. Maybelle Lohman. Councilman Southard advised .
that Mrs. Lohman was a~so interested in purchasing two lots in Section 2. .
Block B. These lots#~2 priced at $85.00,13,~4 and ~5 each priced at $80.00
It was agreed by both members present thatttwo of the $80.00 lots and Lot
5 above described would be sold for the sum tota~ of $205.00 and if Lot No.
12, Block B, Section 2 was one of the two selected then the sum tota~
would be $210.00.
The C~erk reported having received three requests from the young peop~e of
the Town for the use of the Hal~ and the games.
The Clerk was instructed to turn the keys over to any adu~t that accompani~
a group of young peop~e . The clerk was to ask the newspaper to publish thm
as a news item.
Counci~n Southard moved that am. G.Blair be appointed a member of the
Board of Adjustment to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of E.A.
Lembeck, the Clerk to notify Mr. Blair of his appointment, seconded by
Councilman Bailey and by vote declared CARRIED.
