The minutes of the meeting of July 21, 1942 were read whereupon Councilman Southard moved that they be approved as read, seconded by Councilman Stalnaker and b~ vote declared CARRIED. BILLS AND ACCOUNTS. The following bills were read; Florida East Coast Railway Co. Ray S.Blinn. Clerks Miss. Cash. Southern 'Bell Telephone Co. Jncobsen M'f'g Co. New Smyrna Hardware Co. Electric Service Co. City of New Smyrna Beach. Hall Machine Shop. Scheitle's Filling Station. T.E.Cory. J.S.Bates. H. C. Colee. C and M. Motor Co. H.R.Brewer. Counoilman Southard moved that these bills be approved, paid part of the minutes, seconded by Counoilman Stalnaker and by CARRIED. $1.00 5.00 3.33 2.66 10.17 1.44 1.54 35.19 2.25 1.32 1.25 12.55 1.10 1.50 8.00 and be made a vote declared OFFICERS REPORTS. The Marshall made a written report for time spent from July 15th to 31st. The S.M. Offioer filed a written report and advised that a valve on the Riverside Dr.-Park Ave. flow well needed repairs. The repairs were ordered. The Clerk read his finanical report for the month of July. Councilman Southard moved that the report be accepted and b~ made a part of these minutes, seconded by Councilman Stalnaker and by vote declared CARRIED. The Clerk reported authority from Mrs. Gertrude R.Morton to have her lot cleaned and bill her for the cleaning. It was further reported that Horace King had not paid for the purchase of the" East 10' of Lots 16,17 and 18, Block A, Section 3, Highland Shores Sub." as agreed upon in February of ~942. UNFINISHED BUSINESS. Ceuncilman Southrad moved that notices be served on the owners of the follow~~ ing describedllots to have them to abate a nuisanoe, Lot 67A. Fernald and Chadwick Replat, Lot 66B, Fernald and Chadwiok Replat, Lots 72 and 72A, Fernald and Chadwick Replat. Lots 7 and 8, Raulerson Sub., seoonded by Councilman Stalnaker and by vote deolared CARRIED. The Clerk was instructed to go to DeLand and ascertain the assessed values plaoed on Town Owned Lots. Joseph Hewitt appeared before Council requesting a reduction in the amounts.,~ charged for Occupational Licenses. Mr. Hewitt was shO\VD that his request ~ could not be granted except by enacting a new Ordinance anq that the present 6rdinanoe was in accordanoe with the State Law. Councilman Southard moved that permits be issued to Nora Register to keep 85 Hives of Bees on the North t of Lot 11, Mendalls H.P. and to H.L.Haughton to keep 20 Hives of Bees on Lots 1 and 2, Blook 15, Totem Park Sub., seconded by Councilman Stalnaker and by vote declared CARRIED. Counc ilman Southard. moved that the Clerk purchase materials, poles and canvas, for three stretchers at a cost not to exceed $5.00, these stretohers to be placed at the Civilivan Defense Posts for emergency use, seoonded by Council- man Stalwlker and by vote declared CARRIED.
