06-03-1975 .... o o I~ ZONING BOARD REGULAR MEETING HELD JUNE 3, 1975 The Regular Meeting of the Zoning Board was called to order Tuesday, June 3, 1975 by Chairman Robert Wolfe. ROLL CALL Mr. John Brittingham Mr. James Mackie Mrs.Ryta Webber Mr. David Wiggins Mr. Robert Wolfe Excused Present Present Present Present APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mrs. Webber stated that in the minutes, in paragraph six, it should be changed to 39 cars instead of 30 cars. Mr. Wiggins made a motion that the minutes of the regular meeting held May 6, 1975 be approved as read, being seconded by Mr. Webber. Motion CARRIED 4-0. COW.-IUN I CAT IONS Chairman Wolfe stated that he has received some memorandums from the City Manager regarding various license violations, Economy Imports, Pappy's Antique Store, and the Antique Shop on the south east corner of 0aean Ave. and U.S. 1. Chairman Wolfe then proceeded to read the memo's. He stated that regarding Ebonomy Imports, the ordinance does not limit the number of automobiles allowed on any specified lots. Regarding Pappy's Antique Store, under the zoning classification it does not allow for the display outside of the building. Mr. Bryant issued a memorandum to the Chief of Police to remedy this situation. Then regarding the Antique Shop located on the south east corner of Ocean Ave. and Ridgewood, B-1 zones are not specified prohibited from displays outside the buildings, there is a possible conflict between the minimum yard size and the off street parking requirements. The board members then discussed these items in full. Mr. Mackie questioned 'vho l~oks into the additions or building permits. They agreed that some rules should be set up before any additions to any building, there should be a plot plan and be surveyed. Mr. Mackie then brought out the fact that at the Cracker Barrel they have put in two new gas pumps, and asked if this had gone through the proper hands first. Chairman Wolfe read another memorandum to the City Attorney from the Zoning Board regarding clarification on what a lending agency is and what a minor service station is. This also was regarding Economy Imports. The hoard Qgreed that this is a safety hazard. ::> (.) o Chairman Wolfe then stated that Mrs. Brockelman has requested permission to put a trailer on the corner of Knapp Avenue and U.S. 1. She would like to attach a business to the trailer later on. The Board turned this down. Chairman Wolfe instructed the secretary to send a memo to the City Manager to go before the Council stating the boards decision referring them to the trailer ordinance. Chairman Wolfe stated that the Board of Adjustments had a Public Hearing last night regarding A-I Rental. He would like to add a building to the back of his existing building, using it for storage. Chairman Wolfe then instructed the secretary to send a letter to Mr. William Pease of A-I Rental, stating that the Zoning Board would like to meet with him at their next regular meeting, July 1, 1975. If he would like a Special meeting before this regular one, the he should call the City Clerk and request a Special meeting. He stated that he should bring a copy of his plans, location of the closest building, and where he is going to put this building on his property. Mrs. Webber stated that she called Orlando regarding peddlers in the City Limits. They sent copies of the ordinance and types of permits. The Board then went into a discussion on licensed contractors and inspections. Chairman Wolfe requested a copy of all of the fees for licensing in the City. Mrs. Webber then suggested that they have a copy of all of the lioensed contractors. The Board went on to discuss the changes that should be made to the Zoning Ordinance. Chairman Wolfe stated that what he had in mind was that each person could take a section and review it and bring up suggestions at the next meeting. Mr. Mackie suggested that where it says per dwelling unit that it should be 1,200 feet per living area. This was discussed in full. ADJOURNMENT OR RECESS Mr. Wiggins made a motion to adjourn this meeting, being seconded by Mr. Mackie. Motion CARRIED 4-0.
