01-14-1975 a:. Q ~ ZONING BOARD REGULAR MEETING HELD JANUARY 14, 1975 The regular meeting of the Zoning Board of theCity of Edgewater was called to order at 1:30 P.M., January 15, 1975. ROLL CALL John Brittingham James Mackie Ryta Webber David Wiggins Robert Wolfe Present Present Present Present Present The floor was open for nominations for Chairman. Mr. Mackie nominated Mr. Wolfe for Chairman, being seconded by Mr. Brittingham. Mr. Brittingham made a motion to close nominations, being seconded by Mr. Wiggins. Mr. Wolfe was elected Chairman by acclamation. Mr. Mackie made a motion ~atoMr. Wiggins be the Board's Secretary, in the event a clerk is not available at a meeting, being seconded by Mr. Brittingham. Motion CARRIED. Mrs. Webber made a motion to nominate Mr. Mackie as Vice Chairman, being seconded by Mr. Brittingham. Mr. Mackie was elected Vice Chairman by acclamation. After some discussion, Mr. Brittingham made a motion to set the meeting night as the first Tuesday of every month, being seconded by Mr. Wigggns. Motion CARRIED. The clerk was asked to p1ease mail a copy of the two correspondences to all the board members before the next meeting. There was much discussion about fruit and vegetables being sold from the back of a truck on the property of Clark's Laundry. The board members feel that this is a safety hazard in the first place, and they questioned whether this man has a license to do this selling. The clerk was asked to find out from the City Clerk whether a license was taken out, etc. Mr. Wolfe read a memorandum from the Mayor and Councilmen in regard to the manufacturing of jewelry and fabrication busi- nesses. There was much discussion about this. The clerk was asked to find out from the City Clerk what type of jewelry is being made and where at. Also they would like some informa- tion about the cabinet shops. Mr. Wolfe read a memorandum from the City Manager asking for a review of the Ordinance concerning fences. The board members went over the zoning regulations (page 113 of the Zoning Ordinance), There was some confusion as to what the section concerning corner lots meant. The board feels that on a corner lot a four (4) foot fence would be all right as long as it is chain link or open type fence. Mr. Wolfe drew an example on the memorandum to be given to the City Clerk. Q Q There were some questions about the Sign Ordinance. Mr. Wolfe asked the clerk if she would see about whether the board could have the Sign Ordinance finished before their next meeting. Mr. Bwittingham made a motion to adjourn the meeting, being seconded by Mr. Wiggins. Motion CARRIED.A This meeting adjourned at 8:30 P.M.
