11-09-1988 o (tHtn of iEbgtwattfJ POST OFFICE BOX 100 EDGEWATER, FLORIDA 32032 MINUTES OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER SELF INSURANCE AND INSURANCE COMMITTEE MEETING OF NOVEMBER 9, 1988 RE: CLAIM OF MARTHA W. ROBINSON V. THE CITY OF EDGEWATER CLAIM #88-3-2 DATE OF LOSS: 3/24/88 Pursuant to the provisions of Section 8 of Ordinance No. 86-0-30, the City of Edgewater Self-Insurance and Insurance Committee met on November 9, 1988. Present were William T. Powers, City Manager, William L. Jennings, Jr. City Insurance Agent and Jose B. Alvarez, Esquire, City Attorney. The subject was the claim made by Martha W. Robinson v. The City of Edgewater for the accidental backing up of a city truck into a vehicle operated by Ms. Robinson. After carefully reviewing the facts of the case, the evidence collected, including photographs, statements and drawings, and interviewing the involved City personnel, it is the unanimous recommendation of the Self-Insurance and Insurance Committee that this matter be settled by paying Martha Robinson the lowest estimate from Coates & Coates Body Shop in the amount of $389.14. It is therefore directed that the City's Finance Officer pursuant to the authority of Section 8 of the Self-Insurance Ordinance and upon execution by all members of the Self-Insurance Committee of these minutes, issue a draft in the amount of $389.14 in settlement of the above claim. Inasmuch as the amount does not exceed the One Thousand ($1000.00) Dollar limitation, no prior authorization from the City Council is required, however, it is recommended that copies of these Minutes be distrinuted to all Councilmembers for th r . formation.
