BOARD OF GOVERNORS
REGULAR MEETING
APRiIL 9., ,1981
Chairman Wolfe called the regular meeting of the Board of
Governors to order on April 9, 1981 at 7:51 P.M. in the Board
room at City Hall.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Mr. Hardock made a motion to accept the minutes of the March 12,
1981 meeting. Mr. Nerber made the second to.the motion. CARRIED
4-0.
COMMUNICATIONS
Chairman Wolfe read the communication from the City Clerk, regarding
the Fire Department paying rent on the Community'Center.The Council
voted to waive this fee.
Chairman Wolfe read the communication from the City Clerk regarding
the Board of Governors By-Laws. The By-Laws have been tabled for
a workshop to be held on April 9, 1981.
Chairman Wolfe read a memo from the City Clerk regarding the building
of a second ballfield. This was passed by the Council 5-0.
Chairman Wolfe read communications from the Council Meeting of March
23, 1981 on the Edgewater Garden Club. The Council voted to let them
have the Community Center at no fee. At that meeting it was also
agreed that the American Legion be able to use the hall at no cost.
Chairman Wolfe read the new contract with the New Smyrna Beach Pilot
Club for their use of the Community Center in January. 1982. This
contract has been drawn up using the new fees. The Mayor will sign this
agreement and then it will be sent to the Pilot Club.
Chairman Wolfe asked Mayor Christy if he could provide the Board with
a list of all the property that the City owns that could be used for
parks. Mayor Christy stated that he was working on this and when it
was completed he would give the Board a list.
There was some discussion on the Scouts Club House that is to be
located in Florida Shores.
Chairman Wolfe asked the Mayor to be present at the first ball game
that will be held on Saturday April 11, 1981 at 9:00A.M.. He also
asked that the other Council members be notified about this and asked
to attend.
OLD BUSINESS
There was a discussion on the bike path. The board will discuss this
when they have a full board.
Mr. Hardock stated that he a made a motion to approve the minutes but
he feels that there was an error in the minutes of March 12, 1981, where
it seems to him that the way that it reads that the County is paying

for the insurance but they are not paying. The Assoc. pays for
the insurance and the County just provides it. Mr. Hardock stated
that he has just paid the first check and that covers 137 kids.
He went on to say that he did not want anyone thinking that the
County is doing anything for the Assoc. The only thing that they
have done is provide the Assoc. with a schedule.
NEW BUSINESS
Mr. Hardock asked that Mr. Blazi be notified that the kitchen sink
in the Community Center needs to be repaired. Also the Ladies Bath-
room is in need of repair.
Chairman Wolfe asked about what the council had done on the Shuffle-
,
board court repair. It was stated that the repairs were brought up at
the Council meeting and tabled until the Council could get more
information.
There was some discussion on the repairs needed on the docks at the
Park and pier. The/Board also discussed the parking problems at
the Park and pier.
Mr. Hardock made a motion to adjourn. Mr. Nerber made the second.
CARRIED.
