The Board of Governors meeting was called to order at 7:57 on
July 17, 1980 in Edgewater City Hall.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Before the minutes were review) Mr. Hardock made a motion to
elect Mr. Dean tempor~ry Chairman. Mr. Nerber made the second.
CARRIED 4-0.
Mrs. Negedly made a motion to accept the minutes of the June 12,
1980 meeting. Mr. Hardock made the second. Motion CARRIED 4-0.
Mr. Dean read the letter from Mr. Francis H. Maywalt. This letter
was for information only.
Mr. Dean read the letter from Mr, Tinsley. This letter was for
information only.
The board members read the letter from Brooks Shoes.Jthis letter was
for information only.
Mr. Dean read the resolution appointing Mr. Blazi as the Supervisor
of the Parks and Recreation. This was for information only.
Mr. Dean read the memo from City Clerk Joseph Herget concerning
the board requesting a seperate line item for recreational funds.
he feels that this can be done from an auditing point of view, but
it is his opinion that this would be a city effort and any monies
should go into a general fund to be used for the best interest of
the city.
There was some discussion on this memo. No action was taken because
the board felt that a full board should review this.
There was also some discussion on the race to be held on Founder's
day.
The board ask the secretary to write a letter to the Jaycees,
The Friends of the Library, The Fire Department and Mr. J. Herget
asking them to be present at the next regular meeting so that the
board can get a better idea what to do to have this race.
At this time the board decided to adjourn. Mr. Hardock made the
motion and Mr. Nerber made the second. CARRIED.

on November 15, 1980. This race will be held in conjunction with the
City of Edgewater Founder's Day Celebration. As we desire to make the
10,000 meter race one of the highlights of this celebration we are
trying to receive AAU sanction of this event. I would appreciate any
information you can provide us on the proper steps to be taken so that
we may receive AAU sanction of this race.

A RESOLUTION APPOINTING AL BLAZI AS THE SUPERVISOR
OF PARKS AND RECREATION FOR THE CITY OF EDGEWATER,
FLORIDA; PROVIDING FOR AN ANNUAL SALARY; REPEALING
ALL RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND PROVIDING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EDGEWATER, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That Al Blazi is hereby appointed as the Supervisor
of Parks and Recreation for the City of Edgewater, Florida.
SECTION 2. That Al Blazi, as Supervisor of Parks and Recreation,
shall have his compensation per annum increased to the sum of $10,484.00.
SECTION 3. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in con-
flict herewith be and the same are hereby rescinded.
SECTION 4. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its adoption by the City Council and approval as provided by law.
The first reading of the Resolution was read in full and passed
by a vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida, at a
Regular meeting of said Council held on the J ~day of June, 1980,
and approved as provided by law.

RACE KIT PROGRAM
Brooks has assisted in a large number of races throughout the
country and can help you in developing your race and promotion.
As a service to running clubs, dealers, and others involved in
the sport of running, Brooks offers the following to your road race,
track meets, clinic or related needs.
NOTE: We require that the "Brooks logo" appear on all race-related
entry forms and publicity and that such items be sent to us following
the race. Submitted black and white photos may appear in the Brooks
quarterly newsletter, "ON THE ROAD".
The Brooks Race Kit Package includes ~he following:
NUMBERS: High quality, waterproof, non-tear numbers, measuring 5l:l" X 7l:l"
will be supplied. They will have "Brooks" at the top and
your race name printed on the bottom.
First 300 numbers are supplied free - .15~ each for additional
nOumbers . .
T-SHIRTS: Brooks will supply and handle T-shirts with your logo and
Brooks on the front, at the lowest possible cost through
Glad Rags, Inc., precision Silkscreeners. Orders will be
handled on an individual basis, since printing cost will vary.
BANNERS: Large start and finish banners will be supplied, free of charge.
(A $25.00 deposit is required prior to shipping and subject to
availabili ty.)
PRIZES: Brooks may make a merchandise donation to your event.
ENTRY PACKETS: The packets are actually 8" X 12" shoe bags which also
serve as excellent containers for shoes. They are
available at .10~ per bag.
FILMS: If you are having a clinic in conjunction with your event, the
"Brooks Running Films" listed on the attached sheet will be
supplied free of charge. (Deposit required and subject to
availabili ty. )
HANDBOOK: The "Brooks Footrace Handbook", as described above, will be
supplied to the race director, free of charge, upon request,
under our program. Others may purchase for $3.95 + .75~
postage and handling.
COST: A $25.00 fee will be charged to cover the cost of handling. If
"Brooks" is included in the name of the event, we will waive the
handling fee and provide the above program.
