06-13-1979 u uG CJ Q\J tJ CITY OF EDGEWATER BOARD OF GOVERNOR'S REGULAR MEETING June 13, 1979 Chairman Don Travis called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. in the Edgewater City Hall. Nerber Mr. Hardock r~r. vJolfe Present Present Present' Absent Present Present Present Also present: Mayor Christy Mr. Travis asked to dispense with the reading of the minutes of the last meeting as the business has all been either acted upon or taken care of. Mr. Travis introduced and welcomed the three new members of the board, Arthur Nerber, Steve Hardock and Robert Wolfe. The last official meeting was on October 12, 1978. Since that time Mr. Rene Marten has passed away. Mr. Marten was one of the most active members and did a lot for the board. Mrs. Negedly read the correspondence from the Edgewater Shuffleboard Court dated May 26, 1979. This was tabled until the next meeting. OLD BUSINESS There was some discussion on the Parks and Recreation By-Laws and budget. It was suggested that a letter be written to the Council asking for the usage of the money in the budget. Mr. Hardock had drawn up some layouts and information to submit to the school board to get the Elementary School property. Mayor Christy gave a copy of the lease to the Board of Governor's. Mrs. Negedly read the lease between the School Board of Volusia County and the City of Edgewater. The City's Park and Recreation Dept. will repair the existing ballfield and also the pavillon area. This will be the start of developing this area for recreational use by the citizens of Edgewater. There was some discussion on the stage acoustics and backdrop. Mr. Hardock made a motion that the existing backdrop be removed and replaced with a curtain backdrop also sound blocks for the spectator area. Mrs. Negedly seconded the motion. Said motion CARRIED 6-0. A letter will be sent to the Council with the Board's recommendations. Mr. Wolfe made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Mr. Hardock. The meeting was adjourned.
