03-09-1983 o o CITY OF EDGEWATER Parks and Recreation Board Regular Meeting March 9, 1983 Minutes Vice Chairman Wolfe called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. ln the Confer- ence area of the Community Center. Roll Call Members present: Messrs. Wolfe, Richards and Jones. Excused: Messrs. Wyatt and Bidault. Also present: Mrs. Taylor, Secretary. APPROVAL OF MINUTES - Mr. Richards moved to approve the Minutes of the February 9, 1983 regular meeting, seconded by Mr. Jones. The Motion carried 3-0. It was noted that the Council/Parks and Recreation Board Workshop minutes would be approved by Council. OLD BUSINESS Finalize plans for Jim Hogan Recreational Park Dedication Day - March 19. Mrs. Taylor was asked to bring the Board up to date on the plans for the dedication day. This update was submitted along with the Agenda. She advised re~ the responses received from the invitations sent out. Mr.; Jones said he was still trying to contact someone about getting horses to the event. Mr. Wolfe said he would check on platform de~orations with the Fire Department, as they had been given some by Pantry Pride at the time of the bicentennial. It was noted that the Fire Department had agreed to the use of their dunking machine, and that Fat Bob would take care of all food and drinks. There was some discussion about Mr. Richard's contacting Borden's to have ice cream; he noted that it would require some- one being there constantly to tend it. It was agreed that it would be difficult to get someone to stay all day. Mr. Jones reported that he had seen the memorial and that it looked good. Mr. Jones also stated that he would take care of getting the PA system. Mr. Wolfe said there would be two games - one scheduled for I p.m. and the other at 2 p.m. They noted that Mr. McKillop would be the M.C. and then it would be turned over to Mr. Wyatt for the unveiling of the memorial. Mr. Wolfe said he would talk ahead a week. with Mr. Avery to move the cannister day There was discussion of when the ABWA Clowns should perform and the Ralph Settle dancers. It was generally agreed that everything looked like it was under control. The meeting was adjourned at 8:25 p.m. Minutes submitted by Joan Taylor, Secretary
