CITY OF EDGEWATER
INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT BOARD
SPECIAL MEETING
MONDAY, JANUARY 21, 1990
7:00 P.M.
CONFERENCE ROOM, CITY HALL
Chairman Joe Martin called to order a special meeting of the
Industrial Development Board at 7:00 p.m., Monday, January 21,
1990, in the conference room of City Hall to discuss the Young
Professionals in Economic Development Internship Program.
ROLL CALL:
Members present were Mr. McClain, Mr. Martin, Mr. Baldwin, Mr.
Hanson, Ms. Rymsza, and Mr. Richards. Mr. Boyce was excused.
Also present was Beverly Kinney, Secretary.
Mr. Martin noted that the City would have to provide $150.00 fee
towards training in Tallahassee prior to the graduate student
beginning work. The City would also have to provide housing and
workspace for the student for twelve (12) weeks. He added that
the Board had a $1,000.00 budget, but some of the money needed to
be set aside for Industrial Appreciation Week. Mr. Martin
believed the student could put together a document regarding
Industry in the City (a development profile), and a brochure
which could be distributed to anyone interested.
Mr. Martin informed the members there was a matching grant
available later in the year which would help defray the costs of
publication of such a document and brochure.
The deadline date for application submission (February 1, 1990)
in order to be considered for acceptance in the program was
discussed by the members.
