03-03-1988 o o CITY OF EDGEWATER INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT BOARD REGULAR MEETING THURSDAY, MARCH 3, 1988 7:00 P.M. CONFERENCE ROOM, CITY HALL Chairman Bob Richards called to order a regular meeting of the Industrial Development Board at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 3, 1988, in the conference room of City Hall. ROLL CALL: Members present were Mrs. Baker, Mr. Andrew, Mr. Hardester, Mrs. Middleton and Mr. Richards. Beverly Kinney, Secretary was also present. Mr. Racca was excused. OLD BUSINESS: Johns Street - Report by Florence Baker: Mrs. Baker discussed the Council's former investigation to open Johns Street. She stated the City Engineer would work with the Board if requested. The Board discussed a thirty (30) acre parcel of land owned by John Massey, and the fact that he was willing to develop it as an industrial park if Johns Street was opened. Mr. Hardester moved to send a letter to the City Engineer requesting his assistance, seconded by Mrs. Middleton. Motion Carried 5-0. NEW BUSINESS: Sunshine Law: The City Attorney was excused from the meeting, but was scheduled to discuss the Sunshine law with the Board. The Board discussed some issues of the Sunshine law with Chairman Richards. Industrial Appreciation Week: Mrs. Baker informed the Board, the Chamber of Commerce would do most of the work this year, and the format would be about the same as last year. The Board discussed speakers they would like at the seminar for industrial appreciation. MISCELLANEOUS: Mrs. Baker stated the Metropolitan Planning Agency had suggested Edgewater, New Smyrna Beach and Oak Hill support the four (4) laning of 1-95 to 1-4. The Board thanked Mrs. Middleton for her years of service on the Board. Mrs. Baker informed the Board she would be retiring from the Job Service of Florida in June. There being no further business to come before the Board, Mr. Hardester moved to adjourn, seconded by Mrs. Middleton.
