OLD BUSINESS
The members reviewed the Industry Appreciation Award nomination forms for
Noland Car Company and Coronado Paint Company.
Nrs. Massey a,rriyed tq the "mee"ting and I1r ~ Vazquez turned the meeting over
to her.
Mr. Gnau reported to the members that he, Mr. Faidley and Mr. Siconolfi called
on the Noland Car Company and they were very pleased to learn that they were
being considered for the Industry Appreciation Award. Mrs. Massey discussed
the tour by the Economic Board to the Coronado Paint Company and was surprised
at what they found there. The Company has its own laboratories, transportation
and maintainence shops and print shops for its labels. Mr. Gnau said that
he was also very surprised at what they found at Noland Car Company. That
Company does all the transportation vehicles for Disney Enterprises, they
ship to Saudi Arabia, and are building the small cars to be used at" airports.
Mrs. Massey explained that those companies chosen for the award will be
listed in a news letter which the State sends out.
Industrial Site Computer Input Forms
These forms, provided by the Department of Commerce, are used to list avail-
able buildings in the community. The computer list is available for ready
reference and is maintained by the State. Forms were given to Geil Develop-
ment Services and Edgewater Machine and Fabricators, Inc. Atlantic Fiberglass
has already provided the information.
Mr. Gnau suggested a news release to let other companies know that this compu-
ter list does exist and that they san be included if they have buildings avail-
able. Mrs. Massey agreed that this was a good suggestion and agreed to look
into it.
Industry Appreciation Week
The members discussed plans for the Appreciation Week. It was agreed that
invitations to the various companies should be sent so that plans could be
made for the space needed for the industrial fair. Mr. Schneider suggested
that some of the industries may be able to open their doors for tours. He
has talked to the Smyrna Transit System and learned that the City Council
will need to make a formal request to the System for use of the buses.
Booths could be set up at the Community Center by those industries who were
not able to participate in the tours. A budget for the affair" was considered.
It was agreed that a workshop with the City Council would be beneficial to
enable the Board to continue with plans. Mr. Vazquez moved that a letter
be sent to the City Council requesting a workshop as soon as possible this
month for the purpose of establishing goals and setting up a budget for the

is having its fair so that there is no conflict.
NEW BUSINESS
Sixth Annual FID Workshop - July 14 thru 16 in Tallahassee
Mrs. Massey said that she has attended the last two workshops, and would
not be able to attend this year. She asked for a volunteer from the Board
to attend this meeting. Mrs. Massey explained that this workshop provided
good information and was a good contact for the City. None of the members
were able to attend.
Funds normally provided for this workshop may be transferred and used for
the proposed Industrial Appreciation Week, it was suggested. Mrs. Massey
agreed to write to the Department of Commerce thanking them for the invi-
tation to the workshop.
There being no further business to come before the Board, Mr. Schneider
moved for adjournment, seconded by Mrs. Middleton. The meeting was adjourned
at 8:00 p.m.
