03-07-1985 o o CITY OF EDGEWATER Industrial Development Board March 7, 1985 Minu"tes Chairman Massey called the regular meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. in the Community Center. ROLL CALL Members present: Mrs. Massey, Mrs. Middleton, Messrs. Vazquez, Gnau, Schneider* and Cichewicz. Absent: Mr. Faidley. Also present: Mrs. Taylor, Secretary. *Mr. Schneider arrived late. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Gnau moved to approve the minutes of the February 7, 1985 meeting. The motion was seconded by Mr. Cichewicz and CARRIED 5-0. OLD BUSINESS Ferrara Engineering, Inc. reo Economic Development Transportation Funds Grant Mrs. Massey said that she has discussed the Transportation Funds Grant with Mr. Michael Bobroff with the Department of Commerce, and was advised that such funds are intended for new firms coming into the City. The City is not quite ready for this, but may be in the near future. NEW BUSINESS Re. Letter from Jeanne K. Diesen, President of the New Smyrna Beach/ Edgewater Chamber of Commerce, Mrs. Massey advised that David Richmond, Executive Director of the Volusia County Business Development Corporation, will speak at the next Chamber meeting on March 14. Mrs. Diesen has asked if the Board members can be present for that meeting. If they can, there will be a table reserved for them. It will be a luncheon meeting to be held at the Islander Beach Lodge. The cost is $6.00 per person and reser- vations must be in by Tuesday. The "Planning for Growth" Seminar to be presented by Michael Bobroff, Regional Manager of the Bureau of Area Development was next on the agenda. The letter from City Clerk Connie Kinsey was called to the attention of the members. In her March 5th letter Mrs. Kinsey advised that the City Council has proposed a joint meeting with the Industrial Board for the April 4 regular meeting. The members were in agreement with this sugges- tion and the secretary was asked to so advise the City Clerk. Mr. Gnau moved for adjournment of the meeting so that they could get on with the Seminar.
