OLD BUSINESS
There was some discussion regarding the rezoning application on Old
County Road. Mrs. Massey read into the records the letters which were
written as a result of the March 3 meeting. The letter on the rezoning
urged the Council to deny the request. The second letter to the Council
and the Zoning Commission Chairman asked that the Industrial Board be
advised of any rezoning requests and expressed their desire to have
joint meetings with the Zoning Commission to enable the two Boards to
work more closely together.
Mrs. Massey then read the letter from the Zoning Commission Chairman
dated March 28, in which he_?tates that the Zoning Commission completely
agrees with the request concerning rezoning.
The Zoning Commission letter to City Council recommending changes in the
Zoning Ordinance was read to the members. Mr. Foleno reported to the
members that Council did not pass on this recommendation. He was
advised that it could come before Council again in May.
The members suggested that the Chairman write a letter to Council,
expressing their feeling that the judgment of the Board should be
considered by them in making their decisions. They are an advisory
board and feel that their advice should be given consideration.
Mrs. Massey said she would talk with the Zoning Chairman and look into
the action taken at the Council meeting before writing the letter.
Mrs. Massey gave each of the members a copy of a Florida Community
Data sheet which they reviewed and brought up to date for submission
to the Division of Economic Development, Tallahassee, Florida. Items
covered in the report were: Identification and population, Climate,
Community Facilities, Education, Medical, Recreation Activities,
Transportation, Communications, Government, Taxes, Utilities and
Service, Selected Economic Indicators, Financial Institutions, The Largest
Manufacturing Employers, Economic Development, Office Space, Industrial
Support Services Available, and Contact Information.
The Meeting was adjourned at 9 p.m.
