INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY BOARD
September 4, 1980
CALL TO ORDER
Mr. Siciliano, Chairman, called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. in
the Edgewater City Hall.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Mr. Richardson made a motion to approve the minutes of August 7, 1980.
Mr. Witzig seconded the motion. The motion CARRIED 6-0.
OLD BUSINESS
PID - Mr. Siciliano stated the Council had approved the PID Zoning
District and the Zoning Board had recommended the Council rezone the
area as presented by the City Planner. After the Ordinance is adopted
there will be a public hearing.
Advertising
Mr. Siciliano presented samples of paper that could be used for direct
mailers to specialized businesses. Mr. Witzig will research newspaper
rates for advertisement in other areas. Rates in various magazines
such as Business Trends will be researched and after details compiled
they will be compared to the budget for 1980-81. The discussion was
tabled until the next meeting.
Ilex Optical
Mr. Siciliano submitted a letter sent to Ilex Optical regarding possible
future industry location. No response has been received to date.
NEW BUSINESS
A letter of August 15th from the Planning Board was read inviting the
Industrial Board members attend a joint meeting on Wednesday, September
10, 1980 at 7:00 p.m. Present and future projects and their relationship
to toher boards will be discussed.
A Volusia County Manufacturing Wage Survey received from the Florida
State Employment Service was reviewed.
BOARD COMMENTS
Mr. Siciliano suggested a plan to write letters to local realtors in the
area requesting information on industrial land available to refer to new
industry inquiries. He will draft a letter to present at the next meeting.
Mr. Kane inquired as to the status of the Corbett Smith property. The City
Attorney has written a letter giving limited time to clean up the property
according to the Building Code.

Mr. Witzig made a motion to adjourn. Mr. Kane seconded the motion.
